Anyone planting these?

i have been including hazelnut in my plantings last few years they are really starting to produce . they do best on sunny edges and provide screening and nuts.( they are great to eat if you beat the animals to them)

I have a few planted, as an expirament of sorts. The ones I got from T/S were small and should have spent time in 3gal buckets first.

Not yet, after some more tree / chainsaw work, I would like to incorporate a few of these. what time of year are they beneficial to deer?

they will browse but nuts are available end of sept early oct.

perfect timing for bow. I have some wood lots that need thinning. should work great for the edges.

I have 8 hazelnuts trees planted, but my intention was for personal harvest. I don’t want to share them with the deer!  They are only 4’ tall, but I have them in tree tubes for a few years.  I’m planning to cage them for the 5 years after that until they can fend for themselves.

mine have become spreading bushes.. and are 10 to 15 ft high. i tend to plant a lot of stuff forget about it and then find them a few years later again...lol
