Hunter007
Is the average buck taken in the Adirondacks older then most parts of the state ? With its dense forest and unpopulated areas . Do they harvest much older bucks in the Adirondacks Then the rest of the state. Anyone know the stats for this ? What's the average age of a buck taken in the Adirondacks? Edited November 5, 2018 by Storm914
moog5050
Answer is no but its all can be found here. https://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/wildlife_pdf/2017deerrpt.pdf In 2017, only 20% of bucks harvested in the ADK were 3.5 or older. There is a region by region breakdown.
Daveboone
I would have to think that the vehicle toll would be much lower than down state, but then again the more severe winters may balance that out.

I'm surprised by that because usually seems like the ones you see guys taking from there have these really big bodies that you would expect on a older deer or thats the impression I always got that they were older bucks . Maybe just genetics from living in a tuffer climate and Terrain then outside the park ? Edited November 5, 2018 by Storm914
