The greatest player in Mets history was diagnosed with dementia yesterday and has chosen to retire from any public appearances. What a sad ending for a great player.

I've never followed baseball, even though I played the game, but I remember the name. I have sympathy for anyone dealing with any sort of dementia, including the family,  because my own father is in the early stages of it. I see my folks often, and recognize the small changes happening. It's heartbreaking.

Loved Tom Seaver.... Was a kid when he got traded the first time... came back to the Mets in 1983.... had a couple good years with the White Sox after that.... A Pro's Pro.

We dealt with my fathers dementia the best we could and it was rough on the family. God awful stuff. Be strong.
