D.E.C. National Hunting and Fishing Day Expo,

  SASI presents the 40th annual National Hunting and Fishing Day Expo, to be held at the DEC Co-op Property, on Randall Road, in Ridge, on Saturday, September 24th.

    The expo is an all day family-oriented event, with

    FREE admission,

    FREE parking,

    FREE pony rides, for the youngsters,

    FREE petting zoo, for the youngsters,

    FREE balloons, for the youngsters,

    FREE face painting, for the youngsters,

    FREE popcorn, for the youngsters,

    FREE archery lessons, for ALL,

plus many displays, events and demonstrations, throughout the day, including black powder demos and a cavalry troop.

The event opens, to the public, at 9am.

Driving directions:

    The DEC’s Check Station is ¼ mile West of Wm. Floyd Pkwy/CR46, ¼ mile North of Route 25.

    From the LIE, take exit 68: Wm Floyd Pkwy/CR46, North to Rte 25. Go West, on Rte 25, ¼ mile, to Randall Road (gas station, at northeast corner). Turn right (North) onto Randall Road. Go ¼ mile to entry, on left.

    From Sunrise Hwy: Wm. Floyd Pkwy North. Then, follow same directions as from LIE.

What I find quite refreshing here is that they claim that all of this is for FREE.  Not a heck of a lot of places you can take your kids for free these days.  Most events will practically charge you for the air they breath.

  I go just about every year and I only remember paying for food drinks and raffle tickets
