goosifer
Yeah, the title was a mouthful. It's from 9:30 to 3:30. Anybody going? I am. I want to learn more about backpacking and camping. For general info, see: http://www.adk-gvc.org/expo For schedule and workshop descriptions, see: https://drive.google.com/file/d/104slPexU9z2kut5AtNK4qwJ5302VRjxu/view?usp=sharing For a map of the park, see: http://www.monroecounty.gov/Image/MendonPark.pdf (it's at the Beach area parking lot, just south of Canfield Rd and Douglas Rd. in Pittsford. Nomad
That’s a good schedule, lots of good stuff, our daughter who hikes all over ( this year Banff and Pacific Northwest ) could benefit from compass class . Sadly she’s working tomorrow. Also if you have a REI store in Buff. They have monthly classes . There’s one in Roch. I won’t be there, but in my youth, I backpacked a bit , from the ADK , to Arizona, Colorado , Washington state and so on . I could share some tips I guess sometime . You should stop at Genesee Brew Pub, great food, best view of the city, and some good pilot brews . Right now, the hardest part for me is finding a place in WNY where I can hike a bit and then pitch a tent and light a fire just off the trail (as opposed to camping at a designated site). There's always Finger Lakes National Forest, I guess. I'll keep Genesee Brew Pub in mind for the next time Mrs. Goose and I are in ROC. Thanks.
