Hunter007
We call them Bobcats and house cats in the north east But seriously there really was a mountain lion that made it all the way to Connecticut from The Dakotas it got hit by a car in ct . So it is possible not likely though what is that 1 in 100 years that got that far east looks like that can be proven with a body . https://www.google.com/amp/s/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSTRE76Q5ZE20110727
grampy
DEC actually put out a notice on this. Kinda strange. Last year John, I talked to a couple guys who claimed to have seen one not far from where you and I hunted together. Both are respectable, and lifelong outdoorsmen. Both said they felt ridiculous even telling me about it. But were sure of what they saw. (They live about five miles apart, and don't know each other well) I've known both of them for most of my life. And believe they saw "something". Not sure if it was a Mt Lion or not though. I'd have to see one myself to believe it. Edited June 8, 2019 by grampy

Your typical Saratoga suburbanite gets all jazzed up about the "coy" dogs running amuck. They can't comprehend that actual coyotes exist. Now there are mountain lions in my backyard? I'll believe it when I see it. *grin*
grampy
Actually since I was just a pup, there have been stories of big cat sightings amongst the hill town folk. But for more than half a century, I've roamed the ridges, fields, swamps, gullies, nooks, crannies and woods up here and have never seen a clue of one. Even my hunting partners father, who lived his whole life on the land I hunt claimed to have seen one out back, twenty or so years ago. This man was a no BS farmer, who never drank a drop of alcohol, and had no reason to make up a story. And who couldn't tell a lie, if he wanted to. But between his son and I, we have spent countless hours out there, and seen nothing of the sort. Bobcats, yes. We've always had plenty of them. But old Bill said "it damn sure were'nt no bobcat"!!! He would have known. He trapped quite a bit in his younger years. So..........who knows. I'll still only believe it if I see it.
