Calling in bears

Hi, anyone have any experience calling in bears in NY? Looking for tips, stories, etc.

I have a fawn distress call I tried last season to no luck.

Would fawn in the fall not work b/c by then their walking around anyway?

hi bk. we have always used a jack rabbit in distress call.

everything hinges on if a bear is in earshot. if a bear comes on in, his head will be down, trying to scent the rabbit, bears can't see well but their snout is the homing device. this method seems to work better in thick brush, bears can be tough. good luck

We have a lot of bears around. I never called one in but their curiosity gets the best of them and they love checking out really stinky deer scrapes. I have seen this on two ocasions

Thanks I may try something next weekend. Not sure if a combo of legal scent lures and calls is better or overdoing it. 

We know bears have been around within the last week or so but haven't been up more recently.
