Just flushed a turkey

I’m getting excited for the opener. Took a lunchtime walk and my lab started barking and charged forward. All the sudden I see this turkey start running and took to the air. I couldn’t see a beard, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t one.  We were within 20 yards of it but through a swale field.  Well within range.  This should be a good year for me finally. !!

i drove home for lunch and in a field there was a scene that looked like a field and stream cover.  5 Toms all fanned out with bright blue and red heads that looked like a painting.  With about 1/2 dozen hens around them.  Would have loved to stop and take a pic but no real place to pull over on other side and they were real close to the road so figured they would bolt.  But what a sight.
