Hey everyone! I'm at work during the week here on Long Island, but I try to spend weekends up at a camp I just bought in central Herkimer county. I'm lucky to have 35 acres of woods along a creek with many deer trails. I'm surrounded by around five hundred acres of forests. Although I'm anticipating using my 30/30 Lever, I'm wondering if my Remington 870 express would be as good a choice.

I'm very excited that this will be my first season hunting. All my neighbors or rooting for me to take my first "wall hanger" so the new cabin will be properly baptized! Glad to join the community here.

Welcome to the site and good luck this season. The lever action sounds like more fun to me so thats what i would use. Hey are we allowed to have another Doc on this forum?
