Dakota Dog
My brother in law called me last night, said when he was going down the road by our property on the tractor he thought he seen a dead deer in the ditch that was caped out. I stoped this morning and sure enough he was right. It was a deer carcas. Some body shot this deer in the neck with a gun (we are in 7J southern zone), cut the head off, took the hide off, pulled the backstrapes, and took some of the meat off the hind quarters (not all of it) leaving the rest to rot. I was more then mad when I found this as you could tell it had not been hit by a car, it was shot. I called the local conservation office and spoke to him and he is going to be watching the area. I have not comfimed it but I heard that just around the corner on another road that there have been carcas dumped as well. I will be given all tips to the conservation officer on this because I want this or these S.O.B's caught. I just do not understand why people kill aminals illegally and waste all of that great meat. It just makes me mad thinkg about it. I hope they get caught and I am there to see it. Sorry had to vent a little.
Culvercreek hunt club
Don't be surprised if it isn't poaching. but they will get to the bottom of it. We had a deer dumped by property we hunted. Turned out a guy had stopped and took a deer that the police had shot due to a car hit. The lady driving the car didn't want it so the cop wrote the tag to this guy. The dink took the horns and cape and best cuts and dumped the deer. From what I heard he got a ticket for some littering type violation but everything else was legal. Getting rid of animal parts isn't easy. I have to double bag mine and sneak them in the garbage can. One year they refused to take my garbage because I had deer skeleton and hide in there. I was pissed and they wouldn't back off. I asked them what was the difference if I bought a ham and trew the bone out. never did get a good response.

I never thought of that, but it is logical that is what could have happened here .. maybe.
