DEC Seeks New Participants for Bowhunter Wildlife Sighting Log

Do you bowhunt? DEC’s Bureau of Wildlife is seeking new participants for the New York Bowhunter Sighting Log. The program, implemented over two decades ago, is designed to provide information on long-term population trends for certain wildlife species. Because bowhunters spend so much time sitting still in the same place, they are ideal wildlife observers. Cooperators keep a record of their bowhunting activities and wildlife species seen from their stand. The data, collected annually from thousands of bowhunters, is useful for population monitoring and helps biologists make informed management decisions. I haven't gotten one yet this year but I have been doing the survey for about 19 years . I have received a 5 , 10 and 15 year participation patches so far .

I filled out the application anyway just to make sure I wasn't omitted .

Heres my observation ,i sit all gun season in 9P and never see any bucks ,an entire gun season of only doe but i still can't get a doe tag for 9P
