Deer Incense Sticks

I've been trying these sticks. They burn for an hour. No success at all. I think the deer run the opposite direction.

any one have any luck with them ?

Never tried them. My brother is going to burn anise in the woods this weekend maybe attract a bear, who knows????

Never used incense but I tried a bone collector buck bomb a week and a half ago. I am convinced that it completely spooked a group of does that were coming into range. They didn't spook like they winded me, they just put their heads down and took off.

I used them for the first time this season with decent success. I cant say that I had a big boy come looking but several deer were interested and a few smaller bucks walked right to the sex scent. You need to burn it in a bucket for it last longer. I use a piece of PVC pipe wrapped with black tape, drilled holes in it, and put it over the stick.

Used them last year for the first time, I saw nothing.

This year was going to try again one day, they fell out of my pocket some where in the thickets

What exactly is the purpose of the bucket? I've been sticking them into a soft log. is it too powerful out in the open ? they have never worked for me, and I'm wondering if it is the lack of the bucket.

I killed a 4pt over one last year, he came in on a beeline, I think it was an estrous scented one. The idea of putting it in a bucket (I also use a PVC tube) is to make it burn slower, I believe. I love these sticks, and will definitely use them again.

One of my hunting partners refuses to quit smoking on stand, in fact, he says that many deer come in to him from downwind. Almost like it causes a curious reaction. Wonder if it's the same type of thing with the incense.

used them today had 2 does come right in , the bucket slows the burning and mixes the 2 scents together and dont get directly down wind cause that stuff has oils in it and you will stink to high heaven and tastes even worse . lol

I'm going out this weekend. In the morning I will not use anything, if nothing comes around, and I'm getting bored, I'll try another incent, and see if that changes anything.

I'll dig up some PVC tonight, and paint it black so I don't get shot like a white tail.
