Last time I saw, only taxidermy quality capes were fetching any appreciable money. Most regular capes were getting a couple bucks at trapper auctions, etc. You might find a specialized buyer who directly consumes the capes for a bit more.

5$ a hide for adult, 3$ for yearlings. taxidermy capes are completely different....

I had heard years ago that you could donate them to the VA and Veterans whom were in the hospital could make things(belts) out of them , do they still do that ?

You can give them to the vets I thing the elks lodge also take them ,maybe the american legion?
