Found Dead Deer

If anyone recently failed to recover a deer that they shot near the Kensico Reservoir, I found it today.

I shot a beautiful 8 on Friday in Rockland. Is it possible it crossed the walkway over the Hudosn ? I’ve been looking for it for 2 days now

Also If this helps identify it, the deer was brown with a white belly abs black nose with a white ring around the nose

Was it “rotten” looking and in the water? Another EHD victim?

Good question.

I don't believe so, the deer was close to the water, on a narrow peninsula, but not in the water.

The only 'rotten' thing about it was a greenish tinge to a patch of skin where some of the hair was pulled out on its rump.

The back end was being eaten out by crows.

There was a hole, which I suspect was an arrow wound, higher than a perfect shot.

I would gamble there's more than 1 hole in it....  probably more like 8 or 9, lol which is usually where the crows buzzards and yotes get started on dinner. I've found 3 dead so far. All wounded by weapons not ehd cwd or old age.
