Bait shop's/Tackle

This proably should be in the fishing area how ever has anyone owned or gave it a go.I guess my? is how to get started.Would like to give it a try.I dont want to get rich we dont have vey many places to get bait in my area,And now we are comming into the season want to give it a go any suggestion's.

I know a lot of places closed up around me when that whole certified bait thing took effect. 2 places that I know of that sold to bait stores quit the minnow trade and only do crawfish because there isn't the same requirements.

Same here this is why im asking.I will be mostly selling basics,to get started.4$ a dozen for night crawlers is nonsence and that is what they get at gas stop's and mini marts

Dom, I'm not an expert but I think you would need to be near a major fishing area plus you will need to sell rods and equipment. I doubt if you could make it just on fishing, you'll probably need to do archery or other sports like kayaks and mountain bikes. This willl translate into alot of expensive inventory. Take a ride down to Davis on 17 near Harriman and check them out. Probably a million in inventory plus they are between Harriman State Park and Sterling Forest and close enough to draw guys from Jersey. Don't intend to discourage you just think you should know what you're up against. Hope you do it and succeed. Let us know if you open a place and I'll take a ride up and buy something. Good Luck.

I have been there it is a nice store.You are not discourageing me.Iknow that it will be a rather large investment but sure worth the try.If not a succsess i gave it a go.

For got to mention im about 50 miles from them.They do have a whole lotta different thing's going on.Entire wall of gun's' they have been in it for a long time.
