IMO, this is classic government BS and an individual doing something for personal political gain/notoriety.   NYS is suing NYC and all NYers lose.  Time and money spent and wasted.  If the NYPD acted with "illegal and harmful conduct" let the ACLU sue them.

AND/OR is this really just Andy trying to get more NYC money into the state coffer!

I don't think the suit is about money.  I think it's about controlling the police to the point of preventing them from effectively doing their job.  The left doesn't want the police to enforce the law when it arrests any of the protected class.  That is the lefts voting base.  The left wants them protected no matter what crimes they commit.
