I don’t think this rod was ever used it still has the plastic on the cork. The case is definitely new. Not bad for $70

Is there any difference in feel with the 6-piece clearwater fly rod that would undercut the advantages in portability?

One would have to cast them to tell the difference.  I have casted the stowaway 6 piece. It's ok... little slow for my tastes. I sold the one I had because  it didn't fill the niche I thought it would. .
