  2. I think it may be a mixed blessing. Good for some things and bad for others. I have no idea what will happen because I have never seen a winter like this before. All I know is last night I had two bugs that hit the windshield. On March 2nd, that is unheard of. Will be beeaten up by bugs this spring and summer? ..... Only time will tell. How does all this lack of snow affect the water table? ...... I guess we'll see about hat too. Will teh deer herd prosper? ..... Most likely. Will there be any affects on the turkey population? ..... We'll see. How about survival rates of pests and vermin? Am I going to be over run by mice and chipmunks? ..... I don't know. But as the year progresses, it might be interesting to see if we can spot any changes that we theorize relates to this strange winter.

  3. On an 8-1/2" piece of paper, I can nicely fit 4 bullseyes or 5 if I want to put one in the center. That means 1 arrow shot into each individual bullseye. That also means no more expensive robin hoods. I have had seven of them, and realized that when the novelty wears off, there's nothing left but the need to replace arrows. Why did it take me 7 of them to figure that out? ....... little slow I guess ..... lol.

  4. I do not practice with more than one arrow at a specfic target for that reason... it gets expensive fast. not that i am an awe inspiring shot but i've lost more than a dozen arrows to robinhood/ nock/fletching damage/ and cracking hangers over a period of years.. its not worth it to me ..the cost of multiple targets is quickly off set when looking at cost of replacing damaged/ ruined arrows..

  6. Well Doc, in alot of suburban areas, there is a big problem with deer numbers, and limited huntable areas under current laws. Would you rather see them use paid sharp shooters on your tax dime, or allow hunters to take some deer out of those areas? Everytime i see stories about the bait and shoot programs, i see hunters complaining that they dont have the opportunity to hunt the deer. Well, the DEC is trying to give that opportunity in some of those areas. Its quite apparent that the current herd control is not working for those places, and unless you guys want to see some of these wacky deer birth control ideas come to fruition, you should stop and think about what you arent supporting. Again, seems to be alot of " thats not my way of hunting so i am against it" type attitude being displayed here.

  7. you see the problem with Ted is he is not really good for our sport he is just good for Ted. he's not as crazy as everyone thinks he is, he just knows what to do to stir controversy and get people buzzin. just look at any Ted thread on any forum, some have gone on for years. i used to like the guy years back but have found the true Ted story is not a good one. he's got children with several differant women some of whom he screwed over on support, he talks a mean game but did a real good job avoiding veitnam on a student deferment all while making millions playing concerts and never even being in school. hes a coward who talks a mean game but serves himself best. and people out there that dont hunt (not anti's) just think he's a nut..i mean come on just drop the politics and look at the guy folks?
