I finally found some good pricing info - I did pretty good. Gun itself in this condition with no scope and stock barrel is going for around 250 - 300. Second barrel is another 100, not sure what it would cost to have it drilled and tapped, but I added that into my offer, as well as the scope. I feel comfortable and I know that he did as well - he REALLY needed the cash, so I have a good conscience too.

I've never really thought of them as cheap. They are pretty much in line with the other premium heads out there. $34.99 . for 3 pack . Certainly there are some more expensive like the titanium ones but either way, they are tough, accurate and i love putting my own edge on them..

Bulls eye archery is on 5 &20 in Bloomfield. Thats only 20 minutes from Naples. I don't use them for my most technical problems but they are certainly more then capable if you need something taken care of in a pinch or if you have something break and need a new accessory while your in the middle of the season.

I guess I am in the minority here. I hunt on an open farm. People hunt turkeys, rabbits, squirrels, and grouse there during the day. I don't care if beagles run a rabbit right under my stand. I am just happy to be out in the woods. I see my share of nice bucks, and see lots of younger bucks to go with lots of doe and fawns. At night a couple times a week, I know at least one guy that runs coonhounds there as well. Guess what? I still see deer all through the season. During gun season, when the people really come out, I just have to get where they don't go. The number of deer drops for the first week or so, and then they are right back. That is what kills me about all the places locked up tight for one or two people. Sure, they see some nice bucks, but now there will only be a couple people enjoying the land instead of several like where I hunt. I just grew up knowing how to share and be more tolerant of my peers. At any time in the last 30 years I could have posted this land up tight, but still choose to share. No antler restrictions, but enough choose to pass on the young bucks that we see several nice 2 year olds and a couple mature bucks every year. Don't believe all the stuff they put in the magazines and on the hunting shows. Just become a better hunter and help out your peers once in awhile.

Yup.........that's just what NYS needs to do, write one more law to protect us all. Even though my heart goes out for that man and his family where do you draw the line? My guess is that even if something like that were to happen (create a law) the consequences would be even more accidents and injuries. People would continue to hunt from trees but go back to dragging wood, nails, rope and whatever else they can find laying around the yard and garage, up into tree tops to build their own stand. In other words, they would likely just go back to doing what I (unsafely) used to do when I was a kid. Hey..come to think of it while were on the topic.......lets hope NYS goes a step further and out laws kids tree houses, swing sets, tire swings, trampolines, swimming holes, BB guns (remember...you'll shoot your eye out kid).......LOL! Yup....more laws to save us from ourselves. That's just what we need!

A little success today and a lot of excitement. Great day hunting!! I got a nice pheasant this morning and a nice big doe tonight. Lots of activity in the woods. I saw bunch of squirels, a fox, and 2 flocks of turkey . Look at the neck picture. There is a recently scabbed broad head wound. Pretty neat someones elses bad luck became my good luck!

Awe heck just flint nap a few out of chert and go to it!!! It really comes down to what you are comfortable with,what shoots great, not well, but great out of your bow, and what gives you the most confidence. Confidence in your set up is 90% of the battle, the other 10% being getting something in front of you to shoot!! Good luck with whatever you choose.

Previous Thunderhead shooter here. I did the mechanical run but went back to the fixed. A friend that does a lot of traveling for North American species made a suggestion to me and I am very glad he did. I wanted a cut on contact that was tough and he uses the Montec G5. great quality and amazingly strong. very easy to sharpen on any quality flat stone. If you are going back to fixed blade I would suggest them.
