  1. Co-worker's son in law's hunting buddies...right.
  2. I would search this site and google for similar pics first.
  3. I rattled in two bucks last week of Oct? I grunted, they ignored me, I hit the can, they ignored me. I rattled, they looked at each other and turned right around and walk 100 yards to within 5 ft of my broadhead, no lie. The bigger one stayed 10 ft behind the little guy. When he looked up he cringed similar to a dog getting scolded. He turned around reall slow, then they both ran back down the field. I grunted and can called 1 time each. The larger buck went in the woods, but when I rattled again the spike came back! He was 30 yds away this time and went to the other corner of the field. The neighbor shot him Sunday, but whatever. this is the only time I can say for sure a buck came in to rattling. I've seen some bucks within 20 minutes to an hour after rattling too. It sure is cool when it works.
  4. 4H denied this year. I may be up in Partridge Run later this week.
  5. Last day of bow I had a white weasel stick his head out of the rock wall I was laying on. We played peek-a-boo.
  6. Um, yeah, I think hayrake is definitely in the house(area).
  7. Awesome! I was gonna go to Kerhonkson state land but stayed near Crawford on opening day. Dmnnt!
  8. The law is whoever tags it first, the "hunter's code" or "guy code" is whoever delivered the fatal shot. Your deer. Just think of how much harder it was to take due to that yo-yo messing up your hunt. Send him a pic of venison on your table!
  9. In 4J, I heard 8 shots from 615 to legal shooting time, total of 38 by noon. Only 1 double shot. Maybe some are not hearing shots due to crossbows being used in lieu of firearms...
  10. I'd probably forget where I put the checklist...
  11. You know what would fix this whole situation/thread? How about some waffles! WAFFLES.bmp
  12. I used golden estrus this past weekend. It worked on 2 bucks. One I spooked and he came back (spike), the other, a 2.5 yr old w/ a crappy rack came up behind me with his nose to the ground. I scared the crap out of him as I turned around. He scared the crap outa me and we went our seperate ways! (yeah right, I followed him to the property line, but he bounced on me) I saw no does this weekend either.
  13. I may have lymes too, need to get back in and get an elisa test, if that comes back +, then a western blot test. So far no ticks using Ben's from Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS). I treated the inside of all openings too (cuffs, belt line, etc.) 1 can did 1 outfit. $8 Sorry geno! Dick's was out of sawyer's! I had to go to the "anti" hunting outfitters
  14. I'll be on the "getting away from Realtree" bandwagon come next year.
  15. Legally the choice is yours, so you taught the boys a good lesson. Do you know Doc by any chance? J/k
  16. On my 1st day ever during gun I shot a 6 point, I beleive in the leg. It jumped over a rock wall and down a hill. The rock wall was the property line. As we were out by the road, the landowners were driving by real slow and stopped to chat. My dad asked if they'd seen a 3 legged deer, the guy turned into a ---- real quick and denied us access to retrieve it. We also had permission to hunt across the rd, so during our evening sit, I could hear the buck hopping around. He never did come up into the field. I took an incorrectly yarded shot 5 years ago at a 120'' 8 point. It missed completely. he didn't even move, so I let it go from there. I saw the slug hit the dirt. I have never wounded a deer with the bow, but had a clean miss. Gun hunting since 1997-ish, bow hunting since 2005-ish.
  17. Been 2 weeks since I got out for a whole day. Tomorrow I shall spread the blood of the innocent and slaughter their young!
  18. Do what's best for those kids. One extreme or the other. Don't pick sides or blow the spot, if it works out there will be bad blood when the smoke clears.
  19. They don't understand that it's more about the hunt than the kill.
  20. I find myself being more selective, but not this weekend! heeheehehehhee! Maybe we just suck at hunting?
  21. I'm salaried at my main job. I still install flooring (laminate, hardwood, ceramic tile, vinyl)on weekends at my own pace. I did floors full time for a few years. Dutchess County. John, Where are you going with this?
  22. Sounds good. One of your instructors is a Serra Blue belt. That's good stuff. My 3 year old and 6 year old train. 6 yr is very passive, but 3 yr is agressive. It's tough trying not to coach when the teacher is right there. very frustrating but he knows better than I do. Plus it's not as intense until they are 9.
