I heard " Don't leave the reservation, no matter what" and "don't tip the assistant guides because the will disappear for a year with that kind of money" I've never been there.

In the third pic from the top, looks like he even bought a new freezer to store all that hard earned meat!

Check this dog out. Navy SEAL's Lab "Hawkeye" http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/44271018/ns/today-today_pets_and_animals/?GT1=43001 By Scott Stump Jon Tumilson lay in a coffin, draped in an American flag, in front of a tearful audience mourning his death in Afghanistan. Soon an old friend appeared, and like a fellow soldier on a battlefield, his loyal dog refused to leave him behind. Tumilson’s Labrador retriever, Hawkeye, was photographed lying by Tumilson’s casket in a heart-wrenching image taken at the funeral service in Tumilson’s hometown of Rockford, Iowa, earlier this week. Hawkeye walked up to the casket at the beginning of the service and then dropped down with a heaving sigh as about 1,500 mourners witnessed a dog accompanying his master until the end, reported CBS. The photo was snapped by Tumilson’s cousin, Lisa Pembleton, and posted on her Facebook page in memory of the San Diego resident. Tumilson, 35, was one of 30 American troops, including 22 Navy SEALs, who were killed when a Taliban insurgent shot down a Chinook helicopter with a rocket-propelled grenade on Aug. 6. “I felt compelled to take one photo to share with family members that couldn't make it or couldn't see what I could from the aisle,” Pembleton wrote on her Facebook page. “To say that he was an amazing man doesn't do him justice. The loss of Jon to his family, military family and friends is immeasurable.’’ Hawkeye was such a huge part of Tumilson’s life that Tumilson’s family followed the dog down the aisle as they entered the service in front of a capacity crowd in the gymnasium at the Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock Community School. Hawkeye then followed Tumilson’s good friend, Scott Nichols, as Nichols approached the stage to give a speech. As Nichols prepared to memorialize his friend, Hawkeye dutifully laid down near the casket. The youngest of three children, Tumilson had wanted to be a Navy SEAL since he was a teenager. Friends and his two older sisters remembered a fearless soldier, and a Power Point presentation was shown that illustrated Tumilson’s active life outside of the military, which included scuba diving, martial arts, and triathlons. If J.T. had known he was going to be shot down when going to the aid of others, he would have went anyway," friend Boe Nankivel said at the service. “Your dreams were big and seemed impossible to nearly everyone on the outside," his sister, Kristie Pohlman, said at the service. "I always knew you'd somehow do what you wanted." As for Hawkeye, the loyal Labrador will now be owned by Nichols, Tumilson’s friend.

I was in such denial that I made fun of a co-worker, blamed it on his energy drink and coffee consumption!

Yeah it is. I just didn't want to take a chance on a place I've never been to. It's like $75 a night there. You lucky bastids! It must be nice to live up there. Do you allow dogs in your yard? j/k We already reserved, they can't tell us what site till we get there. probably going to go up early in the am and fart around in town until checkin. Maybe rent a boat? Dunno? Just glad I'm going.

Why am i getting my wife into hunting.
ELMER J. FUDD replied to 5.9cummins's topic in General Chit Chat
I just got over the "I'll go hunting but we are not killing any animals" stage and am now onto the " I'll go hunting, but i'm not killing it, you are, and you have to tell me so I don't look" stage. she's never came with me. -

DMP's - What time can you get them on the webiste? 12:01?
ELMER J. FUDD replied to burmjohn's topic in Deer Hunting
Rob, I had 1 pref. point from last year which gave me the opportunity to try for one in 4H (pp required) this year, I was denied in 4H this year, so I get one point for that, my second choice was 3F which is a higher chance. -
Why I've lost interest in hunting shows.

Yeah Gun it is pretty good. The guy doesn't fit the description of a typical hunter. -

Think there is going to be a early rut this year?
ELMER J. FUDD replied to Buckfever85's topic in Deer Hunting
I think there will be...a rut... this year. -
I just put my string back on and flung some arrows the other day. My string flew off the cam last year because I torqued the crap out of it during a shot (I beleive). The carbon arrow broke just after the vanes. The bow sat all year with the string like that. I put it back on by myself with no bow press. It just took a little brainstorming. I picked up some aluminum shafts...

After a little research on Stan, he's def. an accomplished hunter. He took 3? 200+ deer, 2 were on his own before fame??? Quite a feat.
-
Dunno. Someone said he got buckmaster of the year for it, but I'm thinking maybe within whatever gun club they were in?
-
This buck supposedly won this guy buckmaster or some belt buckle record book hoopla for the spread? What do you guys think? It's been floating around the office, so I scanned it in.

I was just thinking this last night! He looked up at the camera after the shot and i'm thinking maybe he has a glass eye? The cameraman actually grabbed him and turned him kind of to show him the deer was coming from another direction. (if I remember correctly) Props to him if he's vision impaired though. I like this guy Jeff Danker from Buckventures. He gut shot a deer and showed the whole ordeal and said he wanted to show what really happens. I thought that was cool. My favorite quote is when Roger Raglin says something like "If you spine a deer, oh well you shot high, get over it!" Then he retreives his deer he spined. It's the way he says it and they show his spine shot deer. Funny stuff.

Does anyone pronounce Jordan as "Jerr-din"? (Bill Jordan) Not me, still trying to figure that one out. When will we see Stan Potts dentures fall out of the treestand?
