Buck be careful it will get you sooner or later. I heard this same story many times and then a guy who was "immune" ends up in the hospital covered from head to toe. Daveboon I would like to say your right that it isnt more prevailant but IM afraid it is. MY 100 acres here at home have seen a drastic increase in the last 4 years. I have herbicided the heck out of it the past 2 years and seem to be getting it better under control. MY woods is managed for timber and Maple syrup production, so its not the case of the land just growing wild. All the years of driving up and down 81 these past few I see it on just about every tree now. MY buddies land is all farm land and they harvest timber off it as well about 45 minutes south of me and you would not believe how bad it has gotten there. I wont even go near his woods anymore.

I have been told by Husqvarna and others DO NOT RUN 87 octane with ethonal in it. Run the highest octane at the pump 93. Husqvarna told me not to run any additives in any of their motors as they are not a guarantee and most times a waste of money. It also voids any warranty by using any additives other than 2 stroke oil. My dads a small engine mechanic for stihl and he said in training they said the same thing. My suzuki 4 wheeler had this same problem before I knew better myself running 87 octane and the dealer told me the exact same thing. NO additives just 93 octane and you will not have this problem again. Thats all I have run and no problems since. Besides in the summer heat 93 octane is a good thing as well it does not burn as hot and motors run cooler.

I have a quick question. If you buy a lifetime license and then move out of state and are a nonresident is the lifetime still good?

Where were these taken fort ricky game farm? LOL That group of bucks is an awesome picture. Now what is that blue haired bird in the one pic?

Here I thought you were talking to yourself and i just realized one was bowhunter and one was buckhunter lol. Nice deer for sure and seeing the potential you have going on that land I would let him walk for sure. Keep my fingers crossed and hope to see him on trail camera in the winter. Question for you though, what makes you so positive this is the same deer that you names little freak nasty? I keep looking at these pictures and see nothing thats stand out that it is the same one. The antlers are alot different than the previous year, the shape and arrangement of points are different as well. Not saying it isnt just wondering what details you are looking at that you came to this conclusion.

wnybh i got an experiment you need to try as well. Take a cedar fence post and drive it in the ground around one of your stands and watch what happens to it. You might be suprised when you see the results.

There are some things missing from. If an arrow glanced off a hay bale and by the time it reached the house how did it penetrate the house? Unless the lady was sitting there in front of an open door or window. Pulling an arrow out of your jaw and only having a bruise and some swelling. How do you pull an arrow out of your jaw and not have a hole in it? It doesnt say she pulled it out of her mouth. Im confused on this whole story. She must have stole the guys arrow and beat herself across the jaw with it and called the cops on the dude for revenge of sorts lol. This just makes no sense to me.

Its a crock. I have read scientific studies on this and by unbiased nonpolitical inspired studies. They studied sea tempuratures all over the globe and if you think about this for a moment if the earth temperature were indeed warming like Gore money grabbing skeem says then why are the ocean temps over the past 50 years not change more than a degree or 2 and in some spots they were lower. Climate shift yes, shift in the air streams over the oceans yes, Global warming i disagree. Heck even Gores wife went on record and said it was a money grabbing hoax. But one thing that has come from this is the people on the planet being more concious of there wasteful ways and recycling etc.

You sure they didnt sell you a brush chipper?

I read an article a couple years ago that the moose came from canada and crossed the St Lawrence when it was frozen. If you guys truly want to know the story behind this lion I guess I will tell you guys. What happened was Obama being in fear of not being able to reach a budget agreement and getting the debt ceiling raised to meet his spending spree before the country defaults decided he needed a more aggressive democrat by his side durin his trying times. So he sent a carrier pigeon out to south dakota to get a message across this particular mountain lion that is a well known aggresive democrat that has even spread his democrat shit arond in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Once this Mountain Lion read the message that Obama sent him he imediately set out on foot to provide his assistance. Once he hit NY he got very confused after the long journey did not know which way to turn to reach DC. So being set in the ways a democrat Lion is he decided that the best choice was to take the same path everytime he comes to this predicament and turns left. Now while this lion is wandering across the northeast John Boehner finds out about Obamas plan and decides to take a quick trip up to Conneticut to stop this lion before he realizes he has taken a wrong turn and finds him in Milford. After Boehner debates his views over and over with the mountain lion he comes to the conclusion that the mountain lion does not and will not agree with his plan. The Mountain Lion turns and walks away and thats when Boehner jumped in his car in rage that he cannot fathom the thought that the lion cannot agree with him and proceeds to run the mountain lion over ending his journey. ???

Nope the judge isnt related to him in any way. I said it before if you knew our judge ( Im related to him by the way) you would understand why these guys get away with things for so long. To me he is just plain scared to drop the hammer on any local since he has to live amongst these yahoos. Ever hear about the Salmon River Thug attack? If so you wont believe the outcome of that one either. Im just glad he is gone and pitty the people who have to put up with him next.

"refinishing" an old shotgun
wdswtr replied to loworange88's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
It hazed from moisture in the air. Its best to spray around midday so it has time to cure before dark. -
Thats funny I was sitting here reading that and thinking 2 lbs per hour and your bragging about it lol. I have the guide series #10 its a great unit and more than I need. By the stuffer you will not regret it WNYBH

Okay so read this quote and please tell me how this animal came from south dakota. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Forest Service Wildlife Genetic Laboratory in Missoula, Montana, matched DNA taken from droppings, blood and hair found at the location of mountain lion sightings in Minnesota and Wisconsin in 2009 and 2010 with DNA taken from the Milford animal, Connecticut authorities reported. Other mountain lion sightings in Minnesota and Wisconsin as well as Michigan are believed to be of the same animal, authorities said. So yeah that makes sense now it must have been from South Dakota lol. Heck even the OTHER sightings in minnesota, wisconsin and michigan makes me believe it was the same animal. Give it a day or so and you guys will hear about a mountain lion escaping from the local zoo.

No problem. I think you could stay within that budget getting both. I wish I bought my stuffer years ago instead of using the grinder. OH well live and learn I guess. Good luck theres nothing like homade sausage and other meats made form wild game.
-
I bought a semi heavy duty one at gander mountain probably 5 years ago. It was under 200 bucks and itworks very well. Nice thing is they stock most of the basic parts for it right there as well. What I will say it stuffing casing with a grinder is a major pain in the butt with any of them. You might not realize what a pain it is until you use and actual casing stuffer. I recomend if to buy the stuffer as well. Trying to push already ground meat into the grinder is not fun.

I have a pretty good handle on it here at home but Im allergic to it and it sure does make it tough to work in the woods. Especially when cutting firewood. Good thing I have a creek that runs through my land. Just about every 20 minutes when Im near the stuff I walk over to the creek and give my arms and face a washdown. Im truly confused over which is poison oak and which is poison ivy myself. I was told by some biologist a few years back that the ivy only grows on the ground and the oak goes up the trees. Many have pointed out to me thats wrong so Im dont know.
-
With the recent concerns over hogweed why is there no concern over the poison ivy and poison oak that is overtaking this state. Anyone else notice just driving down the roads all the trees that are being overtaken by this stuff. I herbicide my property for it when I started to notice it getting overwhelming. It has been quite the task but its working atleast. I have a buddy in Bville that has 100 acres and theres not a single tree thats is hasnt overtaken. Vines completely encapsilating the trees. It is all over the place on the trees going down the thruway and 81.

Stupidity doesnt even qualify for some of these guys. The nov 28 one has to top the list. The guy shoots himself in the foot and then it says he had shot himself in the same foot 2 years ago. I guess the old saying holds true. You cant fix stupid.

Last year we had a state hunter that was shot in the stomach and killed on opening day and later in the season another guy was shot in the leg by his hunting partner. The guy that died was hunting at the bottom of a steep hill in a hunting blind while the top of the hill was being covered buy many state hunters. One guy on top of the hill had a buck come buy below him and between the guy in the camoflauged blind. He let every round fly in his gun and never knew the guy was down there. Missed the deer but killed the hunter. It was the first time I heard sirens and an ambulance crew on that hill. Not a good sound. My opinion on that one is both guys were at fault and it sure is a hard price to pay for not even considering safety. When we first bought the camp we had a few guys we let in to help us finatially on it and one of them on the first day we ever gun hunted it on opening morning left a note at camp he was done hunting southern tier. After talking to him he said he had a bullet hit the tree he was leaning against a few inches above his head. He refused to wear blaze orange. I personally had a scary moment and I was the shooter. We all make a game plan as to where we are going to be and to stick to sitting when others are in the woods. I might add this is our land as well. We dont want another member messing up our hunts and return the favor as well. If one wants to still hunt we plan on staying out of that area and let the guy be. Well I was hunting up on top of a hill on a flat and east of me about 100 yards out the terrain drops pretty quick for about 12 feet. It is a blind spot as to what is beyond that for a few yards. I had 2 does standing between me and that drop off and I was so focused on the deer and the deer where so focused on me that neither me or them realized a camp member was belly crawling up that little ravine directly behind the does where I couldnt see him. I was about ready to pull the trigger when he stood up and raised his gun to shoot at a doe. I almost shit myself. Doe ran off and some choice words prevailed he also had taken off his orange vest because he claimed he didnt want the deer to pick him out. I never considered one of our members would be belly crawling up that ravine when he was suppose to be 300 yards away in his stand to the west of me. Needless to say that was it and its just us family that hunt it now. It sure makes me look more than once to see whats behind my target.

Anyone Tried Winter Peas?
wdswtr replied to Cabin Fever's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Heres a tip for you guys that canot keep the deer out of your plots before it matures. PLotsaver is great. I use it and it does the job. A tad on the expensive side but for under 50 bucks its worth it to me. All the hard work the lime and fertilizer lus the cost of the seed and the plot gets wiped out before it matures seems like a bigger waste of money to me. I dont buy the plastic ribbon tape from them though. I save buy using the plastic skid banding material I use at my warehouse. Same stuff and cheaper since I buy it in bulk. You literaly just put it up about waist high around your plot with whateve stakes you deem fit. Spray the plot saver on the plastic ribbon and your good. When your ready to let deer access it they will dive right in. I wouldnt plant a plot without it. Heres a link http://www.forestry-suppliers.com/product_pages/View_Catalog_Page.asp?mi=4505 -
That buck sticking his tongue out at the camera is funny shit. Thanks for the laugh
