  1. 71 days to go and I'm already antsy .....

  2. That really sucks man! I'm all for the 150' rule. It will make it much easier for those of us with less land to practice our bows legally.
  3. That's for sharing the tips Joe.
  4. I need a napkin to wipe the drool. Thanks for the pics.
  5. Well... for some people it should be illegal to text and walk at the same time. It should be reserved for those who can't chew gum and walk at the same time! LOL!
  6. Yup. Got it on video too. Gotta post it.
  7. Congrats on your Tom last year. I had a big Tom hung up last spring at 60 yds. He would not budge despite my decoys and calling. I came home empty handed.

    Now that's what I call a pint!
  9. Until I killed my first deer 5 seasons ago I was referred to as the "girlie man" in my group by my macho Italian brother in law. Then I shot my first 6pt 2 seasons ago and now I'm a "manly man!" LOL!
  10. Thanks! It was a lot cheaper than some of the ones that are out there on the market. Saw your videos as well. Great job!
  11. I'm not saying that it should be illegal. But you do have to admit that texting or talking while driving has shown to be the cause of many accidents.
  12. Doc It was meant as a joke but you make excellent points. I can't count the number of accident cases I have handled over the last 20 yrs in which some sort of cellphone talking or texting was the cause of the accident.
  13. No worries. This was previously posted on another thread back in September when I received the DEC response. I printed out the email and shoved it in my pack in case some smart a$$ CO gives me a hard time. The vendetta works great once you get it aligned. Can be a pain to set up. Best to have a buddy help you out.
  14. Vendetta IS legal check out email I received from DEC below: Hello Mr. Masiakos, Thank you for your inquiry. Please be aware that there is no prohibition on mounting a rangefinder to a bow or crossbow. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Aphrodite Montalvo Citizen Participation Specialist NYSDEC Region 1 50 Circle Road Stony Brook, NY 11790 [email protected] (631) 444-0350 9/18/2011 12:20 PM >>> Hi, I am inquiring as to whether or not it is legal to use the Leupold Vendetta bow mounted rangefinder for hunting purposes in New York State. This rangefinder mounts on a bow and is triggered with the press of a button similar to a basic rangefinder. This one allows the user to range objects while at full draw. I understand that the regulations set forth that no artificial lights, lasers or mechanical devices may be used on a bow. However, my research has resulted in different answers on various hunting and bow hunting forums and I am confused as to whether this particular rangefinder can be used in New York for hunting purposes. Thank you in advance for your anticipated courteous attention and prompt response.
  15. Kevin, I don't see why not. All you need is a hard case for the particular droid phone you own and attach it the same way. Just pre-drill the holes for the screws on the case to prevent cracking the case when tightening the screws. The bracket is a 3" metal bracket I picked up at Home Depot. Just remember to enlarge the bottom hole to the size of your stabilizer screw. I used a 5/16th inch bit. Took about 20 minutes to put it all together. Couple of days of drying time for the paint. I suggest that before painting, use some fine grit sandpaper on the case so the paint will adhere better. Also I used some small washers on the inside of the case so the screws would not slip through.
  16. I love the NAP Apache. I used to have the Whisker Biscuit but it tore my fletchings. I was not happy. I did a lot of research on rests and read reviews. I settled on the Apache and it works great. My arrows don't really flop around unless I'm moving around with the arrow nocked. I also shoot with FOBs. The Apache lets me do that without any interference. I need to look into some kind of bumper to put between the mount and the stabilizer bar.
  17. I made this Iphone 4 bow mount to film my hunts. I think it works pretty well. See for yourselves . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZ0stHVdM_s
  18. Just a bit too much information...but I was LMAO with tears in my eyes!!!!
  19. Funny! I'm assuming you are not blonde Paula.
  20. I'm so tired of watching TV and seeing her funeral being broadcast live. I'm going out to shoot my bow.
  21. And we thought getting a pistol permit in NY was difficult.
  22. I agree about spoilage. Better left to the Hasapi to do it. You're preaching to the choir-I too came out empty handed this past season. I'm hoping to turn my luck around with some birds this May. Oops just re-read your post. You did kill one this past season. I forget easily at my age. LOL!
  23. I love how the article pitches the transparent IPhone app at the end.
