I figured since I have the whole house Generator I would give my portable to my oldest son . It's a GENERAC rated at 5000 watts . I hadn't started it in over a year and tried to start it last month . Couldn't get it to start and put it back as it was crappy weather . Bought a spark plug but hadn't put it in yet > Briggs and Stratton engine . I had drained all the gas out and put in fresh non ethanol and still no go . I moved the snow blower out of the garage . I put the wheels and handle back on the GENERAC and brought it around to the front of the garage ready to do battle . I checked the shut-off , flipped the on switch and gave the cord a pull . That sucker started right up and I let it run for at least 20 - 25 minutes . I lucked out !

I bought some Dryer Sheets today . I will put them on the mower and ATV also .

I don't "age the deer" . I skin it , bone it out , put in the fridge until I can clean it , package it , grind and freeze it .

No matter what stand you use , change the ratchet straps every year or two . Be safe !

A lot of guys on the Bills site are complaining about trading 2 #2 picks to move up and pick Josh Allen at #7 thinking they should have picked Josh Rosen . Allen has a good arm and good work ethics as well as attitude . There are a lot of arm chair GMs on that site !

We enjoy venison . Backstraps with Peppercorn - Garlic marinade . I use a different marinade mix when I pack burgers in my press . I use at least 3# of burger when I make Chili in the 5 quart crock pot .

I bought some mouse poison and sticky boards today . I didn't realize that we could no longer buy De-Con any longer . Apparently critters would eat the dead affected rodents and get sick or die . THE WAR IS ON !

When you use the WD40 , do the mice still squeak ?

I had an opportunity to take shots at 4 different 4 pointers last season but didn't . I was hoping for a nice doe or larger buck to come along and that didn't happen . Sure I would like to shoot a buck with a big rack but I am not obsessed with doing that . I will take a doe any day I can .

I have done this near the garden and bird feeders and caught several chipmunks . Just a bucket of water , sunflower seeds and a ramp .

I ordered the "rolling mouse trap" from EBAY for $10.99 with free shipping . I should get it by May 1 . I could make one but for $10.99 , what the heck ........

I like this idea but imagine anti-freeze would need to be added in the winter months ...

A few years ago , I was Turkey hunting at my son's property in Italy Valley . I heard what sounded like someone down below trying to start up a tractor . I wondered why the guy didn't fix the thing but was then told that it was a Grouse drumming . Felt pretty foolish .

I had mice in my lawn mower over the winter and cleaned out a big nest . I decided to change the spark plug in my Honda Forman ATV and clean the battery terminals . Lo and behold there was a mouse nest back by the battery and there was some chewed wires . I broke out the electrical tape and did a minor repair . I placed some Moth Balls ( the male moths weren't happy ) in a few areas in and around locations on the ATV . I don't know if they will deter any mice or not . I looked up some electronic deterrants and they appear to be pretty much useless . Has anyone had any luck on getting rid of outside mice ? I have the mower and the ATV stored in separate sheds .

I think I paid around $85 for it . It has a nice case and looks like a Bible case . It does the trick and it is quite compact . I bought it to keep in my car as I park off road when hunting and didn't want to take a chance on getting stranded .

I walked along in a field next to my SIL's woods when I spotted some deer come out into the neighbor's pasture lot from a wooded area about 600+ yards away . . I had been out checking trail cams . I stepped back into the thick area and got out my Canon Power Shot SX130 that has a pretty good zoom . The 1st picture I took was with the deer about 300 yards out . The lead deer came to almost 100 yards and I spooked it when I moved . I didn't realize there was a ladder stand out there as the neighbor cannot climb . Also came upon an attack cat !

Not to hi-jack the thread but ...... I need a lawn mower battery . The one in my Troy-Bilt Bronco is a measly 150 amp battery . I looked at batteries on several sites - WalMart , Lowes , Home Depot and Tractor Supply . The ratings on the batteries was pretty bad . The battery I have is not up to par and could eventually kill the starter . I am amazed at the horrible reviews ! I wonder how the ATV batteries will fare .

Pulled some trail cam cards in Geneseo today . I am beat ! Had to delete a lot of crapola pics but got a few Turkey Pics
