A few years ago they had a rash of thefts in Wayne county . Our tract was hit one night and stuff was taken from unlocked vehicles and open garages . The police said they would hit Ontario one night , then say Newark , then Lyons , etc . They would jump around to different housing tracts in different towns . Had a Radar Detector stolen from my wifes car and they didn't take the cord as it was down through the cowling .What about Sheriff York (Livingston Co ) having guns stolen from his vehicle at one of the Malls ! You used to be able to leave your car in the driveway unlocked and even leave the keys in the ignition and not have to worry ! I leave my Bow case open when I leave my vehicle to hunt .

I have at least 3 bow holders that fit on the rail of a ladder stand . Bought them at dicks for $10 each . They make the bow very accessable . I have left them in a couple stands on Private property . Anyway , the bracket that you set the bow into is adjustable by a set screw and you need to have the allen wrench handy . I went to the local Hardware Store and bought a 5/16 18 thread thumb screw and it works slicker that ......... well it works quite well . Now I don't have to dig out the allen wrench anymore .

You can't fix stupid ! Always know your target and what is beyond it . It's pretty dark at 6:30 in the Rochester area and I believe the map in the Regs booklet breaks it down in 4 minute increments so it had to be DARK in and around Lowville at that time .

Sounds like you had a great outing . I agree that a clean miss is soooo much better than a bad hit .

I hate the snow ! But ......... I did get the snowblower out of the shed and put it in the garage and firing it up .

In one spot , I have seen the deer on camera . In another , I have seen the deer by stopping and glassing . The DEC should stop announcing the start of Archery Season to the Deer ! They seem to know .

Was setup and in a ladderstand in South Bristol by 6:15 this am . My son hadn't replaced the rachet strap and nothing was holding it to the tree at the top . I had extra safety harness belts with me , fastened 2 together and strapped the ladder to the tree . Was there until almost 11:30 and saw nothing . We hadn't scouted there this year and on the way out checked for rubs , scrapes and saw nothing . My 2 sons were on the north side of the gulley and only saw one deer . A fawn had bedded down about 80 yards from Nick . We left and went to my son's house in Honeoye Falls and I dropped off an extra ladder stand that I had assembled . Then we went to out spot on Rt 251 in Mendon . Sat in the stand from 2 - 6:30 pm . I never saw a thing . Neither did Nick but my oldest son saw 4 -5 deer from his stand . There were chipmonks all over the place and they kept me entertained . Maybe i'll have to pray a little harder at Mass tomorrow am ! I will have to check out my bow sight tomorrow . Either the fiber optic pin came loose or broke ...........

Four Season Whitetails ----- When you are breeding those deer , wear a safety harness so you don't fall off of the stump !

I'd shoot her . The fawns will be fine . The mother would kick them out as soon as breeding season was to start anyway .

I havn't seen any yet this year . An article in Outdoor Life says not to shoot them in your hunting area during deer season because they stink and will keep the deer away .

There is a guy in Lyons NY , John Bacon , that has a deer farm and process's & bottles scents . He uses a dart gun to put the doe into estrous and then collects it . Guerinteed Archery in Marion and Archery Solutions In Williamson both sell his products . John lives in Lyons and can be reached at 315 946 4976 .

I know Bubba from another site . I emailed several of the members from that site ( NYDEER ) to get them to come over here .

I havn't done what you did but I bought a couple of Moultrie GameSpy I-35 cameras . I have only used one so far . I have it set for 3 pics per trip > I left it out for less than a week and got over 1400 pics . Some of it is just leaves blowing . It is too sensitive ! I had to clear out over 1300 pics of junk . Very time consuming .

I was in the blind in Walworth and all set up by 6:15 am . It was raining lightly but came down pretty good for a while . Stayed there until noon . I did see 11 turkeys at almost 8 am . They exited the woods on the trail to the Power Lines . I had some pics of doe on my Trail Cam after being there Saturday plus the owner , his son and the daughter had walked around back there but deer had come out a couple hours after they left so they must not be bothered by the traffic . Heading for South Bristol to hunt with 2 of my sons tomorrow .

I think a couple folks on here have been skipping their AA Meetings !

Grow --- I thought with all the confrontations you have had with Poachers , Tresspassers , etc that you would have grown a pair by now !

Rain forecasted for today at different times but I am heading for walworth in a few minutes to sit in my blind .
