That sucks big time !

Be careful WNYBuckhunter ......... yer gonna start getting Hate Mail !

You might want to also take some Dramamine along . The wind is forecasted to range from 20 - 27 mph tomorrow . I will sit as long as I can handle it . It sure would be nice to cash in opening day ! I havn't done that since 2008 .
-
Here's hoping that you all Git 'r done !

What irks me is that the stuff made in China is done with CHEAP labor but it's not passed along to the consumer !

If a person can't wait until after the hunt to have a drink , they have a drinking problem . And , I don't care how you spin it with a glass of wine , one or two beers , etc .. Better that they attend their AA Meetings !

Welcome to Hunting NY ...........

I'm not sure how much to allow for wind drify with a 430 grain arrow ........... hmmmmmmmm !
-
It's not illegal but it sure is stupid . I don't drink so I shouldn't criticize but ........... if the person drinks "after" the hunt , it would be okay but to drink while hunting is an accident waiting to happen . Just an opinion !

I know the weather is forecasted to be crappy and the deer will be hunkered down but i'll be out there . Maybe ii'll get my sleep in the blind .

Welcome to Hunting NY . Are you allowed to be off the Reservation ?

Does anyone besides me have trouble getting to sleep the night before the opener ? I try to go to bed early only to toss and turn trying to get to sleep . On a regular night I can doze right off but the night before the opener , I sure can't . Anyone else have this problem ?

I won't bow hunt in a pouring rain unless I am in a pop-up blind . No sense in getting the gear soaked and have to do a lot of clean up , drying out , etc at the end of the day and have it screwed up for the following day . If it's a light rain , that's okay . I have taken a few deer this way as they start to move . I used to pack up and leave when it would start sprinkling as I figured I didn't want to get caught in a down pour . As I would drive away , I would see deer out feeding in the fields ...........

I am a firm believer in Murphy's Laws . Get a new sight . The one you repaired will break / loosen at the worst time !

I have never used them but was told that they leave an oily scent on the surrounding shrubbery . I saw directions that said to take a 5 gallon bucket , drill several i/4 - 1/2" holes in the side of the bucket and put it over the smoldering stick . If you buy any , read the directions . There are some that you need to use two different scents together . Never heard anything negative other than price . Give them a try and then report how they worked for you .

The buck in the pictures that i posted had the arrow broken off in it's cheek . The tip of the arrow was down in the neck . When i touched the broken end , I could see the movement in the neck . I have no idea what happened when when the bow hunter shot . He may have taken a bad shot . The deer may have moved . We can only speculate . When I removed the arrow , the broadhead had a small wire attached . I had no idea what it was . I was told that it was a Game Tracked broadhead where a string is attached and you follow the string . Apparently that didn't work .. Here is the Broadhead

New Member from Broadalbin, NY needs input on new invention !!!
fasteddie replied to djdaigler's topic in Introductions
Not much difference than moving an arrow from the quiver side to the string . That might work for someone who doesn't have confidence in his shooting ability .- 22 replies

I'm getting too old to let those deer pass by . I want meat for the freezer but the buck in the beginning of this thread would not gat a pass from me .

I checked the weekend weather for Mendon and also Walworth . 20+ mph winds from the south west . That should make things interesting .

Rain is forecasted for this weekend so I took one of my Hub Blinds down to a friend's property to set it up . I have used it a few times with no problem . I snapped two of the supports when I was setting it up . I have it up and it will probably work but the plastic rods that hold the sides out are real fragile !

I shot this buck with my in-line during the ML season . Someone had shot him with a Game tracker Broadhead during archery season .
-
You should have let that one go . It looks like a Button Buck !
