I have shot my son's Traditions in-line yesterday and today . I have been using 90 grains of Pyrodex to push a 240 grain sabot . I have been all over the paper .
Today I ran a couple patches through the barrel after each shot . If I didn't , it was difficult pushing the sabot down the barrel . I had never used Pyrodex before and had only used Triple 7 . I was trying to make it easy for my son who had never shot an in-line before .
My NEF was still loaded from last season . I put a primer in and shot it at 50 yards . I was 3" high but dead center . I had it sighted in at 100 yards . I will have to back to the range and try the Triple 7 loose powder to see if that helps .
Any suggestions ?
I have a camera set up on a friend's property and have gotten pics of deer on various days . My friend has mowed the trail , walked the trail , his son and DIL have walked the trail yet the deer are still passing through .
Thanks for the response . I would guess that most of the roadkill left would be "fair game" and possibly gamey ! There is enough of roadkill out there .
I thought my sons had gotten their licenses but found out that they just bought them yesterday . Neither one was able to get the anterless permits as that had stopped September 30 ( last Friday ) . I bet they won't procrastinate next year ! They will have to apply when the "extras" are given out .
I always got my license the 1st available day I could get to the Town Clerk's office . Now they get mailed and I still go for the tags ASAP .
Does anyone log the date , time and what's in their trail cam pics to try to figure out if the deer have a specific time pattern that they pass by the camera area ?
He probably did use a tri-pod . The camera never panned or moved at all . Unless he wanted to let folks know how unsafe it was , why would he show himself doing something that stupid ?
Not my property . It belongs to a friend who lets me hunt it and it is a swampy area . I have the camera about 10' high as I don't have a lock system that fits it . Had to carry a ladder in and out to pull the card . It's a Moultrie I-35 but has a flash range of 30 - 35 yards . My stand is about 20 yards off the trail . It's almost a 4 way intersection and the deer seem to stop there . I put some scent out to get them to stop .
Had over 1350 pics and had to do a lot of deleting . Too many small limbs with leaves blowing and tripping the camera . Had to re-do this as I had it on here 3 times .
If it was real and I was filming , I think I would have dropped the camera and ran to help the dumb ass . I can't believe someone would just stand there and keep filming .
Sounds like you got a super deal ! It never hurts to contact the sellers and a lot of them are pretty good about taking care of customers .
I have a HSS harness but bought a Rescue One CDS harness that I will be wearing this season .
