I hope that buck was legal and using the Deer Crossing !!!!!!!!!!!! : .. Great pics .

Here are some pics that a friend took a couple years ago with the Genesee Valley Hunt Club
-
I have fired 22 bullets a 2nd time and they worked . Some folks show little concern about safety .

I took my Ruger .380 to the range a couple weeks ago . I was picking up my brass just for the heck of it . Anyway I saw a 22 bullet that was intact . Then another and another . About a dozen rounds . I put the brass and bullets in a bag and brought them home . I was sorting them out last night and noticed a firing pin mark on each of the bullets . They had been scattered on the ground at the pistol range . Bad firing pin , I guess . There is a spot at the range for duds and they sure as heck don't belong left on the ground .

25-06 brass isn't all that plentiful and is rather pricy just like the loaded ammo . I even looked on MIDWAY and theirs is expensive . Shooters used to leave their brass at the range but with the price of ammo , they must be picking it up .

Hornaday Oneshot case lube spray ???
fasteddie replied to fasteddie's topic in Rifle and Gun Hunting
I didn't get any replies so I GOOGLED and found negative remarks on the Oneshot . Some claimed it gummed up their dies . As reputable as Hornaday is , I would think their products would be better . Someone suggested using something like Pam Spray . Have any of you reloaders tried this ? -
I havn't been in a few years but they used to let the kids shoot some clay pigeons . The Boy Scouts sold Buffalo Burgers ........
-
I was able to get a Limbsaver DZ32 for my youngest son for $300 . A friend had it for a review and didn't need the extra bow . My son loves it !
-
I have spent more money on bows than I have on guns .......not really . But ..... the last bow I got cost me $30 worth of raffle tickets . Guys that are on another site that I frequent buy bows each year or every two years . At $600 to $900 plus more money for accessories , that's pretty pricy .
-
The folks selling the bows must have switched to crossbows ......... ;D ... ;D ... ;D
-
That dipwad has 3 of those and every once in a while he tears around the tract with one or two others .......
-
I have a NEF 25-06 Handi-Rifle but ........... if I were choosing over again , I would go with the 270 . It packs enough wallop to drop a deer and the ammunition is much less expensive .

I know those stumps wreak havoc on the Butt-Out tool !!! ??? .. ??? .. ???
-
Those pictures were from 2 years ago . The property owner knows them so I don't think they want to cause too many problems . They would either have to hacksaw the lock or cut the tree down to get the camera .

Do you wear Orange? If so why? If not Why not? :)
fasteddie replied to TheHunter's topic in General Hunting
I started deer hunting in 1965 . The color to wear then was bright red . That was 45 years ago . I don't remember when they 1st started the Orange bit ......... -
That sure looks like fun . Kinda reminds me of how some guys hunted deer on Gibsonville Road between Leicester and Perry . Back in the 60's , some clowns would ride down that old road and shoot deer from a car or truck . Plate numbers were turned in but as far as I know , nothing ever came of it . All I could think of is , damn , that had to be a heck of a loud noise inside the vehicle !

I havn't hunted in the Rifle areas . The thing about shotguns is usually on opening day there is a fair amount of hunters . With the 4-5 shoy volleys , you can pretty much tell which direction the deer are running . ??? .. ??? I usually take my 12 ga Winchester 1200 pump opening day and either the NEF Huntsman in-line or Contender 7-30 waters pistol the rest of gun season .

They had dropped their horns but I am pretty sure the front right one is a buck ........

He's gonna be nice when he grows up .

I have 3 Wildview cameras (one still in original box / packaging) . I don't care for the Wildview brand at all . They are "battery eaters" and one of them uses something like 14 "AA" batteries . I can never be sure they will take pics . Never had a problem with the Stealth Cams of the Moultrie I-40 . I set up the I-40 in the yard when we go on vacation .

The "Official" Where are you from, where do you hunt / fish thread.
fasteddie replied to burmjohn's topic in Introductions
Hey Zem , glad you saw the post and made it over here . -
I take a surgical glove and cut the fingers off . Then I put one of the cutoffs on a finger and roll it up so it looks like a condom for a midget . Slip it on the end of the muzzle loader and roll it down . It will keep dust / dirt / moisture out of the barrel . I have killed deer shooting with this on . IT works for me !

My 1st thought was , what's the big deal of leaving it in the string when drilling the hole larger . Then I thought , what if the bit stuck and wound the peep in the string . Holy crap , that could be a disaster ! ??? .. ??? .. ???

oops ! wrong thread ............

I ordered the Stealth Cam SC23IR . I figured for 50 bucks , it would be a nice gift .......... I hope it uses either C or D batteries !
