Another thing to remember is scent control.. coyotes like to circle down wind before coming in . i find them to be more challenging then deer..if you see one coyote then there's a good chance there was 3 or 4 others you didn't see

Thanks guys...this spike was the first deer i shot with my new hoyt.. and he didn't go more than 40yards watched him fall ..now i can relax for a week..then shotgun starts and iam after the big buck i missed

After i missed a big buck the other day i decided next deer i see iam gonna getem well today at 245 i heard light grunting coming out of the thick brush and i used my estrous bleat and he came running . he's only a spike but any deer i get with my bow i consider it to be a trophy

Went out this morning got up in my stand Heard grunting on top of the ridge . tried calling with my estrous can no luck after a hour listening to him him grunting i said screw it and the stalk was on...i start walking up the 4 wheeler trail and stop every 5 ft well the 3rd time i stop i see the buck walking next to me up the hill. My bow has a hha sight that goes from 10yards to 70yards.. i have it set on 40 when this is happening . so after i see him i duck down and hit my estrous can and this is where things go wrong. this buck makes a bline right for me gave me a 22 yard shot . I pull back pick a spot and let the arrow fly. yeah it did just that about 6 inches over his back...i never moved my site to compensate for the yardage i should have put it on 25 yds... i know better ... but hey its hunting id wrather have a clean miss than a bad hit...man it Was fun though..just mad at myself right now

Had a lot of rut activity in 4b aweek ago with smaller bucks chasing but that has died down a lot even the active scrapes have stopped bein hit... might be time for a all day sit

How can a deer get older if dec can't stop poachers and trespassers ...its a point that can get argued for ever but if a kid wants to go out and shoot a spike as his first deer should that be wrong no i don't think it should not everybody has monster deer running around..like i stated before. a Ar might work in certain countys but not around here

I guess it depends on where you hunt cause a lot of guys here like shooting 8 point or better and I've never seen that done here in 4b where i hunt. if you see a 6 pointer that's a big deer...unless you have permission on land that is eathier patrolled. or farmed. each county is differant when it comes to genetics . if the area you hunt has bad genetics then you ain't gonna see big bucks

We need stiffer punishmant for people who trespass or poach ...i would love to see dec put that robo deer they have on the rd where i hunt..they would catch so many people

People around here don't abide bye rules so a Ar wouldn't matter.. I've hunted the same property for 10 years and never seen dec...the only time i have was when i called them on trespassers.. granted maybe in your ares there is more dec presence but not here

I don't think a Ar would work around here who would enforce it down here bye me I've never seen dec unless they we're called i called them once on trespassers and it took them over a hour to show up...i hunt 360 acres of property and only have seen a couple nice 8 points... there should be a lot ...there's a lot of guys here shooting deer with guns already cause thers no dec presence.....i don't care what Ar is in place unless your neighboring propertys believe in qdma thenits a loss anyway I've let smaller bucks walk and heard them bein shot at 15 minutes later ....ill let smaller bucks walk but if i don't get a deer bye mid gun season then anything is on the hit list...and I've killed 4 pointers on my property that wer aged at 6 ..so don't believe the hype about older deer have bigger antlers
