Huge Buck Ithaca/Cayuga Heights 16 pt?
StripedBuck replied to HectorBuckBuster's topic in Bow Hunting
Wow!! Great Buck indeed. I love those split brow tines and it's got some good mass too! Never seen one of those Big Boy's hunting. Nice job! -
The Buck was taken in the Round Hill area of Virginia. Estimated to be 5.5-6.5 yrs.old. The 180 was a green score only, I'm sure after drying it would be much less. Here is a better pic as far as the angle of holding the antlers goes.

What a great gesture and guy you are...I enjoyed the story and can only imagine how happy Wally must be taking a fine Buck like that...Way to go Wally!!! You will truly be blessed. Good hunting!!

Thanks for the tip on the zip tie through the ear. I guess any good waterproof pen will do as far as filling out the tag in field.

Hey, Fellow Bow Hunters. I just wanted to share a picture of my buddy down in Virginia who yesterday arrowed his best Buck yet! The Rut is on in Virginia as he said. I'm dieing to go down there and try for one of these boys!

They should open Turkey on S.I. as a trial run for a day or two and see how it turns out just like they did on L.I. They should also open bowhunting on S.I. as I always see Deer on the way to the Outer Bridge right off the side of the road.

Damn those Does, too many eyes on you all of the time, it never fails. CBX, that is one fine Buck that I'm sure you will get just be patient and very careful. Best of luck!

Human pee? That is very interesting. I always thought that they would spook when human pee was smelt. I learned something new today. Thanks for the pics and info I will definitely use it on my mock scrapes. Good luck in taking a nice deer!!

A Piebald deer pretty cool, never saw one in the woods definitely would make a great mount. It sounds like you had a really good day Accman with Bucks fighting, chasing Does and a Piebald to boot! Get back in there and good luck!

Congratulations Peas on your first still hunted deer! It's a totally different world down there one on one, glad your hooked.

I love to still hunt, what a rush it is to be on the ground trying to get close to a deer without them hearing or seeing. It is so much harder to still hunt usually have deer running away after jumping them from there beds or them spotting you first. But to be eye level with a Doe or Buck at 5 yds. and not being detected is incredible. Scent control is at the most highest priority when still hunting. I was up in the Catskills two weeks ago still hunting and had two Does trying to fiqure me out one in front of me at 20 yds and the other walking around some brush to my left trying to scent me down wind at 10 yds. As it turned out I couldn't get a shot off, they were just to close to make a move. But what a great day in the woods in a long time.

Way to go Karp!..Congratulations on a fine Doe down, prime maet in the freezer!

Welcome back to Bowhunting! Enjoyed the the story on taking a fine Buck! Congratulations!!!
-
I agree with CCHC...give the deer lots of time to lay down and expire. If the arrow didn't exit on the other side you'll have internal bleeding. Good luck on your search later today, keep us updated.
