Is it just me or is the most annoying thing they way they whisper and try to whisper after the shot, all out of breath when they have been stting in a tree.

I have heared nothing but good things myself, and have considered getting a cva scout in that caliber. I would love to hear some more.

Im not positive but I do belive they have the power to revoke your hunting license and take your guns. I guess it's all up to the situation. I remember a day when DEC use to set up road blocks to search vehicles, no warrent needed.

My guess is bobcat, mt. lions have a good size tail and I don't see any tail in that pic.

Like I said I belive in a AR zone anything less than legal antlered would be handeled like a less than 3" in any other zone. 250.00 fine sound about right and they also confiscate the deer. I know of one person that had a doe that was not tagged in his garage along with a couple deer that were tagged. They got a 175.00 fine and all the deer were confiscted, that was about 15 yrs ago. His neighbor turned him in.

If your not in a AR zone, a legaly antlered deer must have at least one antler 3" or longer. So if you shoot one with at least one antler 3" or longer you use your antlered tag if not you use a dmp tag.

I don't get doe permits anymore due to the fact that I have shot a deer thinking it was a doe, only to find out it was a small buck. Make sure what your shooting at and you won't get fined!

I agree it's all about selling products and I don't watch them shows. I do wish I had the chanel that had Ted Nugents show, I love that guy hes just plain nuts.

All I want to do is take these idiots 6 miles into the Adirondack and say show me what you got. Then watch them come crawling out a week later draging nothing other than there own butts.

If your not in a AR zone there still are restrictions. A legaly antlered deer has to have atleast 3" spikes. If you shoot one with less than 3" it's considerd a doe and you will be fined for taking a doe without a tag. I would guess it would be the same in a AR zone.

The only thoery I use is, no less than 5 grains per pound of draw weight. There for 70# draw weight no less than 350 weight grain arrow. Every arrow manufacturer uses a different grading system which is rather annoying. Stick with the correct weight and try some differen arrows to see how they react.

I'm over 40 and convinced that even though times have changed, there still tough. I think were just grumpy because we miss our youth. My video game was a .22 and what ever junk I could find to shoot at. I wish I could be 10 yrs old at my grandfathers camp just once more.

Two years ago I bought a Bowtech destroyer. I was shooting a PSE that I bought about 10 years before that. What sold me was the employee at the shop adjusted it to my length and with no sights he said here just shoot. I was so amazed I had to have it. I shoot a 350 grn arrow at a 70# draw. It's fast and accurate but is it really shooting 350 fps, I don't know. If you think your bow is not shooting fast enough try shooting a bow thats 10-15 years old and you won't worry about minor speed changes any more.

I would love to do it just for fun but I know what would happen. I would spend way to much time trying to tweek it even more. There are just way to many variables to begin with, a few fps here or there just something else to drive you nuts.

I have seen deer walk inside a cattle barn and eat the feed. The farmer use to get land owner permits and tell me to shoot any deer I saw. the deer just got to use to the cattle and horses and didn't mind them for a free meal.

Set one pin a 20 and just shoot shoot shoot and see how far off it is a 30 and 40. If its that fast you may only need the one pin.

Soap and water, then dry it real good and coat it with bore butter.

I have two older model cva cap and lock ML's. Started over 20 years ago when pyrodex powder was first coming out. That's all I use with patch ball, I have lost count as to how many deer I have shoot. Very accurate guns.

I think 2 " groups are good, my question is are you using a scope or open sights.

If you still have a tag from last year, you have three days to take a deer up north. It's been that way for years.

I'm interested, what kind of numbers are you looking at? Is there any chance we can walk the land before we decide?

It's ok, he just had a lot on his mind. Personaly I would have taken the firing pin out of the gun and put it back in the car.

I have a 21 year old daughter with no interest in hunting, and things have changed so much since I was young. I do know at your sons age he needs to be accompanied by an adult with a hunting license, parent, legal guardian, or mentor over 21 with 3 years experience. Check out Dec's wed site i'm sure it will tell you much more. My father had and still has no interest in hunting, It was mainly my uncles and cousins and my grandfather that got me into it. My father had gone with us a few times at first but left it up to my family to keep me inline. I think they did a good job of it.

Is he looking to get into hunting or just shooting? If hunting who will be his guardian? A competen hunting guardian would be a place to start.
