  1. I remember buying pyrodex off the shelf at places like K Mart and Wal Mart. Those days gone
  2. I see where your coming from but I feel that they (places like Dicks, Wal Mart, etc.) just shouldn't be selling guns and ammo. I know the retail industry and it wont change due to the fact they hire non skilled people for 8 bucks an hr. They need to keep them in check by imposing these rules. You have no idea how pissed I get at the age of 42 to have some teenager scan my license for a six pack.
  3. The thing is that the person behind the counter is only following store policy. They most likely don't know why thier doing it., so no point in arguing with them. Kind of like arguing with a child or a brick wall.
  4. There is a gun shop upstate called "Zacks Sports". Big S&W guys and loads of revolvers in his case wouldn't hurt to call him.
  5. I have done business with the owner of that gun shop for years. While he and most of his employees are great, I agree with you. In the end they are there to make money. He's got a lot of AR'S to move.
  6. Unless you plan on carying it to the beach in a banana hammock, you don't need to get to small. I'm not a big guy and have no problem concealing a compact 1911. It shoots so much better than any sub compact 9, 380, or 40 that I have fired. Still very accurate at 15 yards.
  7. It's legal on most state land unless posted "no shooting". Just don't try it during hunting season, If an encon officer comes by with an atitude you might have trouble.
  8. I pay the extra money to purchase my ammo from a dealer, Just so I dont have to deal with that crap. If they are sellings guns they should have a competen employee with some knowledge.
  9. No matter what you buy get a base model with no sights and go from there. You could go broke quick if you bought one all set up and didn't like what was on it. Belive me I made that mistake.

    arrow rest.

Not a die hard bow hunter but a year and a half ago I went and bought a new set up after 10 years. I went with a drop away rest and havent had any problems with it.They were rather expensive but I will probably keep the bow for a long time.I dont need to run out and buy latest and greatest. t
  11. Didn't know there was a gun show in lk george. Be careful trying to sell guns at a show. They have been arresting people for not having busines license.
  12. I had the 375, at a 100 yrds with open sights it was fantastic. I recently found one I excelent at a local gun shop along side an old 94 in 32 win special which I have always wanted. I just have no use for either one at this point. Wish I had the money just to buy them for collecting purposes.
  13. As with any gun maker they will do just about anything to sell more guns. There are a lot of model 94 collecters that bought them up just to have in there collection.
  14. There was more than one, I can't remember the cal.
  15. If you notice my screen name. I owned a 94 in 375 win mag. Never shot anything other than targets but I loved that gun and wish I still had it. I was young and had some issues, needed money so I had to sell it.
  16. Some call it the dead sea, I call it a chance to have a beer between fish.
  17. 24" brown trout last year on Sacandaga.
  18. Uncle Ted is one of those guys you love or love to hate. Either side will agree he does have some valid points.
  19. If I ever found a colt python for the right price I would buy it in a hart beat.
  20. No time to reload fancy finiky stuff. I look for consistant factory loads. Belive it or not im using cci 158 gr jhp. Consistancy is the key to accuracy, accuracy is the key to a clean kill. I have shot a lot of dear over the years and found that a deer will run every time you take a lung shot, but they don't go far before they drop. I have had contenders with a scope, ruger revolvers scoped and not. Im left with one revolver S&W 686 open sites. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!
  21. Several deer and various other critters. Still waiting to get a black bear with it.
  22. Can't go wrong with a tried and true 357, 6 shot 6 inch bbl. Very versital gun.
