  1. In between yard work and the rest of the honey do list...lol
  2. Look at the Traditions Persuit. I just got my father into one last season and I think it was around 250 bucks. the thing he loved about it is while on stand he can cock the hammer and use the cross trigger safety that is the same as the remington 1100 he has used for years....must be that old dog new tricks thing...I extended my season by two weeks because I hunt north and south. Even during shotgun season I carry my muzzleloader.
  3. Can't say I have but was thinking about it. I shoot the 250 gr shockwaves and have yet to have a deer go over 5 yards when I have hit them with one. Hate to move from what has worked but the "What is better" in me takes over.
  4. I shoot and TC Encore stainless with wood laminate thumbhole stock. topped with a Bushnell 3x9 with dial up ballistic drop compensating. They don't make that scope anymore but unlike the Nikons that have the circles it only uses one crosshair. The nikons only work at full power but as I dial up the range on mine any power will work. The gun truely shoots flat enough with 150 gr in it that almost all of my shots do not require any compensation. I have shot most inside of 150 yards. I did take an 8 pointer 2 years ago that walked into the open feild at 225 and after I ranged it...dialed up and squeezed...he folded in his tracks.
  5. No restrictions on shooting a tagged bear. DEC does ask to get the equipment back though. Southern bear have to be checked in anyway if i recall correctly. I only have hunted then up north and there is no check in requirement there....the 400 would make a great rug
  6. I am in Rush NY, just south of Rochester. I hunt 3 areas mainly. 85 acres for bow in Rush, 250 acres for norhtern Muzzleloader and rifle North of Utica and have a remote hunting camp in Marathon on 100 acres that boarders a couple thousand acres of state land. My favorite is the hunting camp. it is 1 mile off the hard road...no electric...no people other than our guests.
