  1. Entry hole? Where was the guy...in a hole in the ground?
  2. Everyone who has hunted for any length of time has lost a deer. If you're saying others, you either have little hunting experience, or you're full of crap.
  3. Looks like the arrow is sticking in the ground behind it.
  4. Just like AT around here...
  5. I found a scrape the size of my coffee table at my place this past weekend. A bunch of fresh rubs were all over as well.
  6. First off...I would stay at least 75 yards off of a hiking trail. Do any of these rocky outcroppings converge or funnel down into a low lying area? If so, I would start there. Sometimes you just need to get in a tree and hunt a new area a few times before you really get a handle on where/how the deer are moving. Also, make sure your first few sits are split between mornings and evenings...one time of the time may be way better than the other.

  8. I have about 30 apples trees on my property....they are very old and have been producing for a long time. I decided I wanted to add a few pear trees to the mix. I planted 3 ayers pear trees in the spring of 2005. When I bought them they were 6 ft tall. This year was the first year they produced...and only about 10 pears per tree. I have them planted in full sun. I would suspect that apples would likely take the same amount of time to produce...but I'm not certain.
  9. Shoot her or the fawns...last year I shot a fawn and the doe wouldn't leave it. Then, I shot her as well.
  10. Hello all, I am new to this forum and live in Westchester County NY. I spend a lot of time hunting upper Westchester, as well as Greenwich CT. Several weekends in the fall I'm upstate hunting my property in Deposit NY. I see some familiar names here from AT. I look forward to reading all of the great information that you guys have to offer.
  11. I go there all the time when I'm at my place upstate. My neighbor told me that Bass Pro was going to take over the space...not sure if it's true though.
  12. I've shot a lot of bows in the past 25 years. Before you buy anything, shoot an Elite. Whichever model you shoot it will sell itself.
  13. Found the info on the DEC website... http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/10001.html
  14. Amatos butcher on Route 100 normally has the DEC come in for the tag redemption. Give them a call at 914-232- 4772 for dates/times.
  15. Thank God zone 4O is finally getting AR's. Maybe in a few years I will finally see something better than a basket 6pt.
