  1. Crossbows for years were looked at as being evil as the modern sporting rifles are being looked at now (ar15) once upon a time I am sure modern day bolt action, pumps, lever action and semi auto hunting rifles were seen this way when traditional muzzleloaders were primairly used as hunting tools. All of which used a similar projectile the only difference was the overall operating system. Crossbow use a very similar projectile as modern day bows. compound and recurve all have that same type of Broadheads one just shorter in length and operates differently. I am sure scopes were once looked down upon also but everyone adapted and became modernized. It is a choice to use a scope or not an a choice to use a semi auto vs a single shot and a choice to use a vertical bow vs a horizontal one. And the word "choice " is what everyone should be fighting for Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. The fact of the matter is that NYCC accomplished Something and the real crime (aside from the safe act) is that there are people on this site as well as the general Public whether for or against crossbows that are looking down or are not in support of the accomplishment made by NYCC. Crossbows cannot and will not ever take the place of what we lost with the safe act and nobody is asking anyone to reelect Cuomo because he "gave" us an inch.the victory which needs support whether for or against is that together people made a change and fought for what they believed in for the hunting sport. By saying NYCC lost your respect because they said thank you to Cuomo, and not wanting to fight for the hunting sport is telling younger generations if you lose just give up on everything. You should be ashamed of yourself The fact is that crossbows will pave the way for future hunting for SOME new hunters it may not bring in a lot, or more revenue or dramitically increase license sales but with every new hunter hooked on the sport, it's just that much longer we can call hunting a sport and that is the ultimate goal everyone should be in support of... 4. Yikes.... Rather then bash you for a bad decision I would say you are making a good decision by not shooting in your yard again. Especially since it sounds like you neighbor is so close to you. I just had this discussion with my wife. We are closing on a house with 2 acres and a neighbor in the right and left woods in the back(with lots of deer hehe) I will be legal because of the 150' law once in place but with little kids next door I plan in letting the neighbors know what I am doing and make sure they know I am doing it in a safe direction with some sort of backstop Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. A huge thank you to the member who posted this receipe. I used it today in a deer from last season. Cut venison in to 1/4 round slices and followed instructions and they came out flawless for those oh didn't see it here is the receipe I keep them in my deep fryer for about 3 minutes 30 seconds just enough to get the batter golden brown and not over cook Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. agree 100% I have an average crossbow nothing fancy. But does the job 175lbs draw about 315-330fps I wouldn't take a shot past 30 yards the bolt or arrow drops a lot more and actually goes under the intended target. I have a 3d deer I shoot at and the Xbow is dead on up to 30 at 40 yards it's a clean miss and I'm aiming vitals heart/lung area Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  24. So figured what better way to celebrate the day I was born than to go in the woods and take a deer out. Was awesome weather this am 16degrees however I ended up getting out if my treestan dun a hurry because the wind was blowing and the tree I was in started to crack so got outta there real quick. But I didn't leave the woods today empty handed. Got to my jeep to find a ticket on my windshield for overdue inspection... Cost me $25 to go hunting today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
