  1. Yup, I agree with that...I've never had a problem laying my guns down on their side gently with the rope.
  2. Well, you're going to think I'm crazy but my favorite slug gun for deer is my H&R 1871 Ultra Slug Hunter Deluxe in 12GA. With the 1.75-4x32 Bushnell Trophy scope, it weighs in around 11 lbs. I do stalk with it a little but it is mostly a stand gun. Yes, it is heavy, but it is very accurate as long as I do my part. I shoot Lightfield Hybred 2 3/4" sabot slugs out of it. The bonus for this gun is that I can switch out the barrel and it is a turkey gun for chasing tommy three toes in the spring. For upland bird and small game, it is an easy choice. I use the gun that my grandfather gave to me. It was his late 30's Winchester Model 12 in 16GA. It has an adjustable choke on it. I love shooting it, and not only for nostalgic purposes. I have other shotguns but none that I use as often as those two...
  3. My 6.8 weighs approximately 9lbs when loaded with one 5 rd mag, utilizes a 110 grain Hornady HPBT, and is not difficult to carry...Not sure what kind of AR you are talking about? I've used 10 round PMI Mags that I blocked so that only 5 can be loaded into the mag at a time.
  4. Took my 6.8SPC out for whitetail season for the first time in 2012. I didn't score with it but only was able to hit the woods on the opener and the day after...There will be deer taken with this AR in the future...It is incredibly accurate. I've attached a pic of the AR with the camo form tape on it...The target attached was from the first time I took the gun to the range. I attribute the one flyer to the nut behind the trigger.
  5. When I am able to, I support my local archery shop...There are two in my city but I only go to one of them...It's called Doc's Archery http://www.docsarchery.com/ . Mark, the owner, knows me by name and I feel at home when I go in to his place...And it is only a couple minutes away from my house to boot.
  6. I started hunting with a Browning wheel bow that I bought off of a friend of mine...That was 1997, the same year that I started hunting. I took a doe with it my second time out hunting... About 6 years later, I purchased my first new bow...It was a Pearson Spoiler Lite and I am still shooting it to this day...It is set up with a 30" draw and a string loop as I require a 30.5" draw... I have to admit though, that new Mathews Z7 does interest me...
  7. Wow...I think I am the first person on here to list a single shot slug gun as his go to slug gun...I shoot an H&R 1871 Ultra Slug Hunter Deluxe in 12GA...I have a 1.75-4x32 Bushnell Trophy scope mounted on it as there are no rifle sites. I shoot Lightfield Hybred EXP sabot slugs out of her...Lower recoil and extremely accurate...I like it and that is all that matters...Does a job on the deer too.
