Thanks...I never expected that with a new gun.

This is the first trip to the range with my new Savage rifle. I mounted a Mueller Tactical APV 4-14x42 scope on Burris XTR low rings. I am shooting Hornady 168 gr BTHP Match ammo out of her. You can see how I walked the groups in to the red dot in the center... The bigger squares are 1"x1". So, it looks like I have the shots in about a 1/4". I ran out of the Hornady ammo at that point or I would have tried a few more with that three shot group. I burned through about 30 rounds of ball ammo that grouped about 3" @100 yards prior to shooting the better stuff. When I start reloading for 308 at least I have somewhere to start.

Wow...Glad everything turned out ok. I love my Viper so much that I bought a second top half for it with an open front for archery season. Congrats...Hunting/target restriction is typical for Erie County even though there shouldn't be any. That Ruger is one tough hombre. It can handle some pretty hot loads. Are you going to mount an optic on it? Sent from my ADR8995 using Tapatalk 2

There was plenty of ammunition on the shelves at Cabelas in Hamburg PA last week. I know because my family and I stopped there on our way to Sesame Place in Langhorne PA. The property that I hunt in the Southern Tier is about 15 to 20 minutes away from Pennsylvania, I might just make a run over the border and pick up some ammunition then...Less tax dollars lining Andy's pocket.
