  1. Ugh what a crap morning. Got all ready and grabbed my bow and my release is missing. Searched everywhere, still don't know where it is. Go home grab my spare and now driving back. I'll be lucky to be in stand by 730. Incredibly angry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I'm not sure if you can put anything into the trees where you hunt but I love the realtree ez hangers. Get the longer one as its more convenient for adjustment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Had a couple does working into my food plot, wind shifted and hello matriarch. Blowing and a stomping she will go. First time I've been winded this year (that I know of). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. me too I was watching my shadow as I walked in. Boy was it noisy with the frost and the leaves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Sitting here watching the squirrels and they all move behind me. I hear something in front of me and I'm starting to get excited. Nope not a deer, just a quail. I haven't seen one in ages so it was quite the nice surprise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. 27* small 4 or 6 at 715 just cruising along. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Button and small doe so far Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. reading the responses before I posted and Steve couldn't have hit the nail more on head with this response. The only other thought is why hunt the property line, knowingly that you don't have permission for retrieval.
  9. Had a doe come out late. I was actually about to get down and caught her flick her ears. Checked the cam and had some day time movement yesterday and today. Not a single buck on cam in over a week.
  10. I know a few people that do this and I've done it a few times. It makes for a much faster walk in and it's quiet. I just hate raking a ton of land and the trees drop more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. how did this work out for you?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I love that this thread has evolved from live in the stand to more of a hunting camp thread. It really shows how similar we all are in our goals and successes in the woods. With no better place to share it than with 100's of others who can make it feel like we've known each other for ages. Catching up on this thread whether at work or in the stand sure makes the time go by. Congrats Kludes on that doe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. there is usually a hybrid or food plot mode that cuts down on the picture frequency. I set mine for 3 shot burst or video. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. button Dudes been hanging out with me for 15 min lol I'm ready to go buddy move along. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Had a real nice doe at my stand when I walked back in. She ran off but at least didn't alert Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I overslept too and had to choose a closer stand this morning. I just moved to my other stand only to check the camera to see does and a buck at 830. Stupid me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Gorgeous morning, expected to see a ton of movement by now. Everything else is moving, eating and gathering. Oh well, that's deer hunting. I'll blame the October lull. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. seems to be the pattern Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. A lot windier than I'd like but nothing moved this morning, they have to eat at some point, right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Just had a lone fawn with spots come through Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Beautiful morning, quiet and cold. Just wish I got on stand 30 min earlier. Oh well. Good luck today folks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Great looking project. Easiest way to check the correct temperature for hardening is to use a magnet. When the steel is glowing hot if it is the right temperature for quench a magnet will not stick to it. The other thing to look for is the colors to run, you'll see the different lines start moving and when it's all even you know you're good to go. As far as tempering its dependent on how soft or hard you want your edge/knife. A lot of guys temper in a toaster oven. Only need 300-400 degrees. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
