Appreciate all the advice everyone hopefully he comes around again this season

Need some help from my fellow bow hunters. Thursday night I got a 26 yard broadside shot on my target buck. The shot felt and looked perfect. He took off and I watched him run across an open field with his front leg not working and it appeared to be blood covered already. I calmed down for 10 mins and expected to see him piled up in the field. To my surprise, he was not. So I went to the shot site and could not find a drop of blood whatsoever. About 10 foot from the shot site I recovered my arrow which was broken off approx 2-3” above the fixed blade broadhead with blood up the shaft another 5-6 inches. I backed out, went to the house and got lights and my 4 wheeler and searched for an hour. Never bumped the deer and never found an oz of blood. So i backed out and had 2 very seasoned hunters come help me grid search for 2 hours where we covered a ton of ground. I shoot 70lbs and only use fixed blades. I felt like that should have gone through the shoulder at least enough to hit 1 lung. The shot was apparently a bit forward but I thought for sure it was fatal. what are y’all’s thoughts based on your experiences?

Trail cams all showing nothing but nocturnal movement in 7F but screw it, its a perfect morning to sit. Good luck to anyone out there today.

The number of times I have looked down at my hands or clothes and seen ticks crawling on me is insane. Yesterday my wife had one crawling on her in Target. Im sure it came from me but its just insane lately. Does anyone spray their hunting clothes with anything? Im nervous because most of those sprays smell terrible. With a 10 month old at home I have to be super careful.

Close encounter with a stud 8. Only have a doe tag unfortunately. Come on gun season!

Finally got it done in 7j tonight. Wife and I bought this land in 2017, 2 weeks before getting married. I have seen countless deer here but just now connected with a descent one. I have been an avid hunter for 25 years and hunted my whole life in 6G and 6A. I can say that the quality of deer in the Southern Tier is much different. My biggest bow kill and one I will remember for sure.
