  1. I took a fox a few years ago with my Ruger MKII .308 and it was fine. I have it mounted as well and looks great.
  2. Nice swamp donkey! Congrats!
  3. You both did the right thing. Kudos to both of you and may you be blessed next year with wall hangers!
  4. I saw a mountain loin in Jefferson county last night while in the stand. I took 3 cell phone pics then the darn thing charged after me, climbed the tree and stole my phone! I tried to shoot as he ran away but my gun jammed. Hopefully Verizon can track the phone so we can find the phone and lion!
  5. I got a venture last year in 300 win mag and i absolutely love it. Very accurate gun!
  6. Last year i went to the dr before the season because i have had so many on me in the last few years. He wrote me a script for doxicycline (sp?) which is a high dose antibiotic. Take 2 pills at the first sight if a tick on you then 2 more 12hrs later and the risk of Lyme disease is reduced dramatically. Call me crazy but its a nice safety blanket to have. Fortunately i havent been bit in the last 2 years.
  7. My grandpa killed more deer back in the day with a parliment in his mouth. I realize scent control is more important now but i think if he was still here today he would still be wacking em.
  8. Carpacio, tartare....i cant wait for the season to begin! I always butcher my own so i trust its ok.
  9. A lil Wild Turkey will fix that right up! Give em the bird!
  10. Perfect mount! Very quick turn around too!
  11. Sorry i was wrong. Thats for beer and wine only.
  12. By law you can produce 200 gallons per year for personal consumption but its illegal to sell it.
  13. Congrats on your first buck! Very cool!
  14. I have to disagree. Everytime i look at my mounts it brings me the same joy as the day it was harvested.
