Well the hour is quickly approaching for some who have leftover tags from last season. Good luck to everyony and be safe! Whether its a trophy 150" buck or a doe for the freezer, lets take em safely and in the most humane way possible! GOD speed!

What a great hobby! Im thouroughly impressed. -
If you have other 2 yr olds running around with respectable antler size then i think i would remove this guy fom the gene pool and let the others do the breeding.

If you want to hunt bigger bucks and practice AR to grow em bigger than buy your own land and have at it. Thats what I did. Cant afford it, then start a hunting club with others that want the same out of hunting as you do and buy a piece together. Seems like a better way to spend your money.

I pulled 3 cam cards yesterday and all the bucks were still in full velvet. I would assume that within the next week or so it shouuld start comming off.

Thanks for the replies. I would have a hard time dispatching a domestic dog even if it were legal. I will continue to monitor the cams and see if more pics come up.

For the last few months i have been getting trail cam pics of a few nice bucks, one of which will be my target for the upcoming season. Last week however, when checking the cam photos i noticed a pic of someones dog on my trail cam. Unfortunately i didnt get a person with the dog so i dont know who to confront. Its a 150 acre puece that my father and i own and it is posted. My questions are this: 1. Will the smell of a domestic dog push the deer out of the area? 2. What are my rights if the dog returns when I'm in the stand? Do i try to catch the dog and turn it over to the pound? Thoughts?

I agree completely deerpassion!

White oaks in 6G are the healthiest ive ever seen them despite the lack of rain. They are plump and still hanging on the trees for me.

Holy crap!

Got mine yesterday at Gander in syracuse. They said the bow/muzzle antlerless tag will be mailed to me shortly. Shouldnt be an issue at all.

Ive seen many bobcats here in NY and have a hard time believing one could take down a mature deer. Is it actually possible or do they target fawns?

i would like to say ice fishing but at this rate I will be launching my boat after the new year rather than setting tip ups

we had a similar situation on one of my pieces of property last year. A call to the DEC resulted in them spending many nights in my field with a robotic deer and patrol cars in the brush waiting for violators. They spent many nights this season ambushing road hunters. Its worth a call to them to inform them that its happening in your area.
