S.C.O.P.E Wins Safe Act F.O.I.L. Lawsuit
Mr VJP replied to ELMER J. FUDD's topic in General Chit Chat
Glad to see a court decide this. The question still remains, if Cuomo ignores the court, is there an "or else!" with that? -
They are also entitled to shoot and kill anyone that tries to kill them. When many of the people killing cops happen to be of a certain profile, you have to expect cops to be more assertive with those people. If leftists want to see fewer of those folks killed, they better start making them understand this. Because of people like this killer, cops are not going to trust them when they have to deal with them. If those folks want to blame anyone for the perceptions cops have of them, they need to blame the people that gave them that perception. The answer to their gripes about cops shooting them, is them taking the initiative to prove they are not out to kill cops.

Congratulations on the sale and the new place. I spend some time hunting deer & bear with muzzle loader near Tupper Lake in mid October. I go about 14 miles back in the Cold River woods area on horseback. Greatest Ruffed Grouse hunting I have ever run into as well. They see very few people back there and hold real tight. Don't even need a dog to limit every day. Good Luck to you for the future.

It could be. No other pics of it?

Situation in Baltimore
Mr VJP replied to ELMER J. FUDD's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Seems to me we have many more riots since the politicians have tied the hands of the Police. In the 60's riots, when the cops showed up you expected to get your head handed to you if you were stupid enough not to leave. And the elected officials wanted you to know it. Today, politicians are making excuses for the rioters. How stupid is that? -
I sure hope a bear didn't get him.

I tagged a 2nd one today, so the rest of the month I'll be trout fishing. Unless my buddy comes up to hunt. Then I'll help him call them in.

This morning was cloudy with a threat of rain. Temps about 50 degrees and a slight breeze. I waited on my deck until it got light hoping to hear a bird I could go after. Nothing gobbled. It got sunny and warm by 10:00 but still no gobbling anywhere. I decided to go to the top of the east ridge, where I've taken Tom's in the past as they cruise along late in the morning, looking for an available hen when most have gone to their nest. I got a reply to my calls at 11:15 AM. He was at least 400 yards away. I called again a few minutes later and he replied from much closer. I kept calling and he kept coming. At 11:30 I saw him coming 80 yards out. He was in full strut at 60 yards, but wouldn't come closer, despite my whines and clucks on the call. At 11:40 I stopped calling. He strutted for a few minutes, gobbling some more and putting on a great show. After not hearing any yelps for some time, he looked confused. I wish I had set out a decoy, but I didn't bring it. Finally at 11:45 he made a beeline for me. He stopped at 40 yards when he saw me in the sunlight and I let him have it with the Mossberg. He's 21 lbs with a 10" beard and one spur that measures 1 inch, while the other one seems worn down and only 3/4 inch. That makes two and tags me out for the season. It's been fun and there's plenty of turkey to eat this year.

Look's like our back tags may be a thing of the past?

When I was 16 hunting deer at a friends place, I decided to go behind the house and down the hill to sit by the stream on a stump watching the field for an hour or so in the afternoon. A warden drove by on the road and saw me. I had the license in my back pocket cause I didn't want to put holes in my red down filled vest. He walked all the way down the hill to me and asked for my license. He was pretty miffed when I showed it to him telling me, "You're supposed to have it on your back!" I apologized and he went back up the hill to his car pretty mad. -
3 Police Officers Injured
Mr VJP replied to Vince1's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
It made me laugh. -
What happened to Born? Hope all is OK.
-
Terribly sad. This spate of police officer shootings isn't something Obama can blame on Bush. As far as he's concerned, "The Police acted stupidly".
-
Great story. I'd be afraid to do that though. With my luck, somebody would shoot my azz.
-
Nice Bird! Good Job.

When he gobbled the first time, I thought I was gonna have a heart attack.
