You plan on taking a 50 yard shot with the bow? X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

If you've got the guts to assault their beds, do it. Just make sure you have a strategy before you do it. Once the deer feels threatened in their bedding area, that area will most likely be barren for a while. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Wouldn't surprise me if it did the way this thread started. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

You mean like someone decorating their garden shed or something? What's the difference between that and showing off a trophy room? X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Anyone Squirrel Hunt Tivoli Bay?
shawnhu replied to ctballos's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
They're not hard to spot now with most of the acorns on the ground by me. Just walk around where you can see 50+ yards and look for ground movement. No need to walk and stop, just walk at a slow pace and try to keep it light footsteps. If you prefer to sit, do 15 mins at a time and move on. Sounds like a sweet setup. Hope you find some good people to join your ranks. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

If you haven't figured out what ammo your gun likes by now, you most likely won't benefit from my way of sighting in. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

I use field tips, and only shoot if the squirrel is on the lower 7' of a tree with the tree as a backstop. With bunnies, I'd go with a small game head, as they usually won't dig into the dirt like the field points. G5 has a nice small game head. Almost hit a squirrel at 30, so I don't see why not. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

I'd probably have no objections to someone doing the above to you. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

With a good scope, and some mathematics, you can sight in with as little as one round, and confirm with the second. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Doesn't need a rocket scientist to know a deer on full alert will be more likely to jump on any unfamiliar sound. Also, at 50 yards or so, I could easily dodge a paintball going at 280-300 fps. A deer has much better flexibility than and human that I know. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Anytime Steve. You can look us up anytime as well, but our schedules are a bit tight this year due to family. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Generally, the faster you drive, the sooner you get there. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Wool is the warmest material, then comes fleece if its not windy. Lester feels best and is a tight fit, but on those cold days, it cuts right through. Finding a nice glove is tough, especially for hunting. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

If you don't know how fast your arrows are traveling, get it chronoed. As stated already, a faster bow has its advantages. I too have an older bow, but for some reason, everyone at the range says its dead quiet compared to theirs. They are all using Mathews. Not the first time he has done that. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Stewart can be good, but it isn't right now for non dog hunters. Wait until later in the season, you may have better luck when they finally decide to cut some of the grass. A buddy and I also flush without dogs, and we do pretty well some days. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Congratulations on the deer! I guess you haven't read some of the overly confident hunters on here claiming the deer they shot is dead, when in reality, was poorly shot and lacked any effort in searching for the deer was made. I'm glad this wasn't another case of that. Good job! X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Seen too many of these posts, doe down, deer down, etc etc. nothing personal against the OP, no matter how hard you try Larry. Nice low blow though. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Longer the distance from peep to sight, better the accuracy. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
