Hate to rain on anyone's parade, but with all the deer down threads that don't produce, I'll save my congrats until I see some pics! X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Lots of first this year it seems, congrats all! X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Was an honest mistake with good intentions in mind. An apology was made, but I guess some people are too eager to take a stab after the fact. I for one appreciate the info regarding youth stands and blinds. Learned something today. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Each bow is different, and the front and rear sight will make a difference. For example, my bow shoots at 216 fps, and 10-20 yard pins are close together. I could probably use the same pin, but I have 5 pins so why not. My 20-30 yard pins are pretty spread apart, arrow is no longer ascending, but descending. Same with 30-40 and 40-50. Arrow FOC also plays a role in how fast an arrow drops, an arrow with higher FOC will likely drop faster, especially with BH. This is IMO, take it for what it's worth. Sterling has deer and bear pickup stations. Just try to hunt near them. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Love hearing success stories, too many "doe down" "deer down" threads that are just plain disgusting and disappointing. And two! Well, that's just double congratulations!! X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Bow hunting isn't for everyone. I respect that you admit it, and spared the deer needless suffering. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Apples won't last forever, better strike while the iron is hot. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Sounds like a single lung hit that also took out the opposite front leg. I have a bad feeling about this deer not being found. Good luck, and hope you find it before your trip. I personally wouldn't have shot it knowing I can't dedicate enough time to search for it. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Good luck to your niece, and good for you for bringing her! X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

As a new bowhunter, I don't know what to think of it. But I'll most likely be out there if time allows for it. Good luck and stay safe everyone! Wear orange! X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Since there technically isn't a DMP request thread, I figured I'd make one for those that are looking to make such a request. Saw quite a few requests over at the *swap* thread, so I figured this was appropriate. I'll start. I'd appreciate any 3N or 3S DMP if anyone has one. Could trade fresh back straps if successful. Cool beans WNYBH, just wondering what happened to a post that happened to question your post. I'm sure it had nothing to do with all the other posts on this thread that is requesting tags or just commenting for the sake of commenting. Since I have no DMP's to offer to trade, I guess this message will self destruct in 5, 4, 3.... X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

I've dragged enough deer out of the woods to know in not interested in dragging a big buck. If you put two deer in front of me, I'll shoot the more manageable one. As to why I hunt deer, that's for another discussion, not this topic. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

I didn't even get to take the treestand off my back...

Can I night hunt on the DEP property?

I think RIT will be hunting with a bow, just a hunch. Good luck out there! Bring a flashlight. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems -
New Video: Mile High Mouser

Being behind the camera sometimes myself, that's definitely really close! It's a tough call sometimes. As hunters, and marksman, we sometimes try to push our limits. Getting this yote that close was more of a challenge than any shot IMO, so I'd consider this hunt a success! X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems -
Cool story. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

DEC was giving out free fathead minnows to help control the mosquito population. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Hmm, I guess I just do things differently. I actually have most of the DEC ECO's cell phone numbers on my phone, and have spoken to each and every one that I will be needing to contact should something arise. I guess I'm old fashioned like that. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

DEC considers an air gun that fires in excess of 600 fps a firearm and is not allowed during special bow season when hunting with a bow. NYS does not consider an air gun as a firearm, and a felon can use one to hunt in NYS. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Don't use cameras, don't use scent control and don't use stands. Don't have the latest and greatest bows, arrows, or camo clothing sets. Don't have any BDC scopes either. I'm not against these things, and not against people that use them. As long as they are using what is legally allowed, have at it. For someone to come on here and claim holier than thou because they hunt differently is just bad for the sport. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Glad you're back Bubba! X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

At this point in my hunting career, I don't want to even think of dragging one of those out. So no, I don't really want to shoot one. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems

Could this be a case of changing equipment too often to know your setup? I never understood why people are always looking to upgrade to the latest and greatest, when I'm looking for something old, handed down from another hunter. X-Calibur Lighting Systems http://facebook.com/XCaliburLightingSystems
