    I hunted with a guy for 3 years before I realized he never bothered to properly sight in his gun. After he missed his 5th or 6th deer I started asking what he was doing wrong. He told be that his gun, which at the time was a brand new 1100 with a good Nikon scope, shoots " about a foot high" so he was holding low. He was kind of new to hunting and didn't know any better. After a couple boxes of slugs I had him dialed right in and our next time out he nailed a big doe at about 50yrds.

    Both Dick's and Gander Mtn normally have blow out prices a few weeks after X-mas. Thats when I buy everything for next year. The wife got me a pair of boots for X-mas that were a little snug. I brought them back a couple weeks later and the same boots were 50% off !

    What rumor? It was a fact that there was this video tape out there and what APPEARED to be on it. he was asking if any one else saw it, Turns out (Like most of these bash the cops compaints) that what happened on the tape was not what some people alleged. I know I'm not gonna win this one so Happy New Year any way.

    I might be missing something here, but how did RSS spread false rumors? The way I read it he was asking if anyone else had seen the video or heard of this incident. Again, I might have missed something.

    I had been using my Rem. 700 (lefty)in 30-06. Very accurate and in 30-06 it lays deer right out. I never had one go more than 20 or 30 yrds. Alot just pile right up. This year I broke in a new Ruger Hawkeye (lefty) in 7mm-08. It's a little lighter than the Rem. and a little more accurate. I took a buck with it on opening day and the deer went no where. As much as I love my 700,I think I'll stick with the Ruger for a while.

    I dont think GM's gun Dept., in Cicero NY, is that bad . They have 2 or 3 guys that actually seem to know their stuff. Problem is they never seem to work at the same time, so if the gun counter is crowded and one of these guys is with someone, you'll get stuck with a stock by who dosn't know Jack. GM ammo prices are crazy though. WAY more than most places and once their out of a certain brand or cal. it takes forever for them to get it in.

    This is great! Now all the dirt bag criminals have to have their illegally possessed guns modified to hold only 5 rounds ! That should lower crime!!!......Right?

    Look into this law too. If someone passes away and leaves you a handgun can it be deemed a nuisance and taken from you??? Makes me freak'n crazy

    Crazy... I was in Gander Mtn. this week and they had a box of safari stuff (416 Rigby I think) for $167 in the CLOSE OUT BIN !!! How much was it before mark down?

    I'll say it agin BS! That gun is your property, you bought it. I don't see how they justify this. I would at least make a little bit of a stink. Insist on some kind of documentation that shows the gun was destoyed, if it is. And how is a gun a nuisance if it goes from an honest citizen to a police agency. At what point did it become a nuisance!!! Makes me freak'n crazy

    A couple months ago I bought a Kahr mk40 (40 cal) for a carry gun. I like small guns for carry. I love the size and cal. of this gun but its kind of heavy (all steel) Does anyone know of a comparable gun thats lighter?

    Summit all the way. I got my second viper off a friend for $100 bucks brand new. After testing it out on a tree in his yard he decided he didn't like the feeing of going up and down in a climber. I guess their not for everyone, but SCORE for me. His butt never even touched the seat.

    I thought so on the oil. I've been using Castrol or Mobile. I get the filters at the auto parts store. Every time I go into the dealership (for something only they carry) they try to sell me an oil change kit. As I recall its about $7 more than the regular oil & filter you get at the parts place. Eveny cheaper at wally world

    Speaking of oil do you guys use ATV oil or regular car oil in the recommended weight ?

    I pulled the battery yesterday and the fuel has stabilizer in it. I'll address the mouse thing today. Normally I would keep both ATVs in the garage, plow with one and run the other up and down the street every couple of weeks so it was never an issue. I ran out of garage space this year so one has to go in the back shed and once the deeper snow comes its on its own. Thanks for the info.

    Larry, I hear ya. three years ago I left my 110 at a gut pile, after dressing out a deer. I did'nt realize it till dark and hardly slept that night. I found it the next morning but what a wait.

    Is it better to pull the battery and put it on a trickle or go out and start it up once every week or two?

    What do you guys do as far as storing you ATvs for the winter. I have 2. One I will plow with but the other is done till spring. I dont have room for it in the garage so I have to put it in a unheated shed

    The only thing I have ever used is Remington 150gr core lokt. I cant imagine any other round doing any better on deer. That includes the premium $tuff
