Yeah....I been thinking about that and I'm going to. With my luck the old one will just quit on me, the day after I clean everything up, and I'll have to take the machine all apart again.

This morning I tapped on the selonoid with a long screwdriver and the winch worked fine for a while then stopped. I tapped on it again and it's been working ever since. I'll try to clean the selenoid connections first, if that dosn't work I'll shell out the $100 for a new one. Thanks for all the info......big help

Thanks fasteddie. Sounds like my problem to a T, right down to the crappy location of the solinod. I'm really gonna hate taking this thing apart. I have'nt looked close yet but I hope theres just one big bolt that holds all the front plastic on......and that I hit the lottory

Actually the 7mm-08 ammo price is'nt that bad if you stick with the Rem green box or Win. power points. I paid aroound $25. The primium stuff is like $40 but the plain factory ammo works fine. The deer don't know the differance

go for the 7mm-08. recoil is moderate, at best, and it lays deer out. The 243 will kill them dead, but you have a way better edge with the 7mm-08. Bigger bullet with the same (or maybe just a little more) recoil than the 243. Great deer round.

I shot a few deer with a 243. You need to have a perfect broadside shot with it. It will kill any deer alive but Its a lot less forgiving than an 06 or 30-30. I got rid of mine now I use a 30-06 or 7mm-08

Looks like I have to take off the front fenders to get to the thing !! There are 100 better places to mount it and they put it on top of the frame under the front fender!!!! Should of bought a Honda

Check out Gander too. I was in there the other day and most of their hunting clothes, boots, hats and gloves are 50% off. I never got over to the stands but I bet their on sale as well

Same here. Seems like there are tracks, or deer in most of the fields by my house. I went to the woods the other day to grab one of my climbers I left out there and there is sign everywhere. Might take another look today since I forgot the key to my stand lock and have to go back anyway

I have a 2007 Polaris 700 EFI with a Polaris winch, which I use to plow with. Today while plowing out the driveway the winch would let cable out but not in, so I cant raise the blade. When I hit the "in" button, on the handle bars, it justs clicks but wont take in the cable. The "out" mode works fine. Any ideas?????

The Taliban has been more than brutal in the treatment of our troops and civilians. Hacking up bodys, burning bodys, televised beheadings.. etc....I think we ARE leading by example when our troops only piss on dead Taliban, who were killed while trying to kill our troops. The military cant condone this (because of PC) so slap them on the wrists and move on. -
Forgot to mention I returned those boots to Gander Mtn. and they did give me the sale price.

I live at the south end of Oneida lake and I been seeing them. I dont hunt them anymore but I use to go alot and I think there is something to that cycle thing. Seems we would have 2 good seasons followed by an OK season then 1 or 2 crap years then back up.

I have heard good things about it and I've been meaning to try it but the price!! Copper plated #5's or 4's have worked real well for the past 20 some odd years but I'll most likely break down and get a box, maybe even this season. My buddy switched last year and told me that his patterns are way tighter with them. We'll see

Mechanical or fixed broadheads?

I switched to Rage 100 gr. last year when I got a new, faster bow. I took a buck with one Holloween morning and it seemed to do well, but no better than the Thunderhead 125gr I used, for years, with the old bow. So I would say use what shoots the best with your bow. Even if you have to waste a couple broadheads shooting into your target, at least you'll know what flys good. Although Rage comes with one practice head. -
Agreed... Lansky with the diamond stone is by far the best I've ever used. You cant get your knife any sharper.

Yeah ..the Gander in Cicero put all their guns behind the counter too. It stinks. If its busy I just leave .seems they never have enough help in the gun dept. And I dont know whats up with their ammo prices!! Even when something is on sale its not all that great.

Sad. Its crazy.. no matter how safe you are there are still morons like this running around and they might be in the same woods you hunt. I cant see how they dont charge this idiot.
