Senator Gallivan is toying with the idea of Antler Restriction legislation. I filled out his online form and sent a paper letter from our Federation letting him know that we do not want it. Please let him know how you and your organizations feel about it. http://www.nysenate.gov/webform/senator-gallivan-wants-know-your-thoughts-about-antler-restrictions-nys http://www.nysenate.gov/webform/senator-gallivan-wants-know-your-thoughts-about-antler-restrictions-nys

Anyone under the 480a management plan?
raymerlo replied to Zag's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
If I remember right there is a minimum of 50 acres, you need to get a certified forester to do a survey of what you have and what your goal is,timber stand improvement, wildlife habitat, are you looking for marketable timber, talk to a reputable local forester -
when all else fails check the hunting guide you get when you buy your license,it will tell you what and where you can shoot, and the season, and type of implement that is allowed
-
make sure that there is no law pertaining to firearms discharge in the town, some suburban towns have no firearm discharge laws, check season dates,be careful, good luck

think about all the PR dollars that will not come into NYS that were going to wildlife restoration because of the safe act, ammo sales are dropping gun sales also, think coumo will make up the difference when the casinos come in,the politicians stick it to us and some of you want to make nice with them,I don't get it
-
the USFWS has been trapping and disposing of wild pigs[eurasian swine] for a while in central NY,contact the dec for more info

Maybe some of us should look at who is the proposer of the casinos, our friend coumo, only people that benefit are owners and the politicans, create jobs yeah I'll send my kid to college to learn how to deal black jack, detroit is doing well because of casinos, really,it's the biggest craphole next to chigago,

the Putnam Co. Federation of Sportsman clubs stocks pheasant throughout the early part of the season up till almost the gun deer season, along with the state stockings and there are more than one, also Cranberry Mtn and Ninham mtn, there are two parking areas at Cranberry Mtn,the other is about two hundred yards further up the road, also try lafayetteville in Dutchess Co.
