They want us to start wearing masks again???
Grouse replied to Gobbler Chaser's topic in General Chit Chat
People don't seem to realize it is not the govt's job to keep you healthy, nor do they have any legal authority to do so. The people have allowed the govt to take away their rights and dictate how they must live because of a virus that can kill people. We have had these same viruses in the past and they have killed people, but we never allowed the govt to destroy the economy, kill people's jobs and businesses, dictate where we can go and what we must wear, change election laws and run up the national debt to the point of economic collapse. Either our govt has become drunk on power, or the electorate has lost it's way. We are supposed to be in charge of our govt, they are not in charge of us. If the public doesn't wake up and start turning that around, they will soon be wondering how we came to be slaves under a totalitarian dictatorship. -

I don't know why you are so mad at the unvaxxed, because they agree with you on not having to wear a mask. So the name calling and insults really make no sense. Since the virus has a survival rate of over 98% many don't feel a need to get the vax, especially if they are very healthy. Some wonder why the vax makers were granted full immunity from lawsuits if their vax kills or maims someone. That's a good reason to hesitate. Some know many people have suffered bad side effects from the vax too. Many have had COVID, so the vax will do nothing for them. Herd immunity happens to people who get the virus or the shot and develop the anti-bodies. You don't have to wear a mask to protect the unvaxxed, because they don't want you to. Who wants you to? The same govt people who wanted you to get the vax. So don't go calling out the people who refuse to comply with the govt's demands to get the vax. Their reasons for not getting it are as valid as your's are for getting it. This is largely a government desired virus now. -

I'm going with the legal precedent of "My body, my choice!" The govt has already abdicated any power to tell anyone what they can do with their body. So mandating the vaccine would be violating my right to control my own body. And if you say I have to get it to keep me from infecting others, I say prove I infected someone who died and then you have a case. Otherwise, leave me be to live free.

America needs to change it's lawsuit rules to a "Loser Pays" system like they have in some of Europe. If you sue and lose, you pay the defendants legal fees. Our system allows a plaintiff to harass the defendant for years, costing them millions. Lawyers love it, but it doesn't lead to a just ending. P.S. There is a Federal Law that says the firearm manufacturer cannot be held liable for these types of illegal events and the gun maker isn't responsible for the criminal misuse of their gun. Why have the courts not tossed the case then? Because it's not about stopping these things from happening. It's about stopping gun makers from making guns.

The majority of violence in this country, about 93% of it, does NOT involve a firearm at all. I don't see Democrats calling for an end to that violence, just violence involving a firearm. Plus any shooting, self defense, justified homicide, or law enforcement shooting, is added to their tally to make "gun violence" seem like it needs to be declared a "State of Emergency" or a "Public Health Issue". What we have is not a "gun violence" problem, but a violence problem. Interestingly, a lot of the violence problem is solved in states that allow more responsible people to carry firearms. Albany would be wise to look into that data set.

In early spring, bears came to my feeder so often, I started calling it the bear feeder. Took it down now. Only put it out in the winter now.

Not this one. That was an old Winchester lever shotgun.

It's for those who wish they could've been on Wyatt Earp's SWAT Team.
