Australian Gun Law Update; Here's a thought to warm some of your hearts.... It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in: Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent, Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent; Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)! In the state of Victoria.....alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.(Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still possess their guns!) While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding Australian society of guns....' You won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information. The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens. Take note Americans, before it's too late! Stop being shocked when mainstream liberals express their desire to see their political adversaries not only censored by a union of state and corporate power but also imprisoned. Yeah we should have just left all those guys training terrorists alone. Just because they trained in Afghanistan to attack our country didn't mean they were a threat to us, even if Afghanistan was the largest base of terrorism in the world and Afghan based terrorists successfully killed thousands on our own soil. If Clinton had any balls,he could've prevented any attack on the US and avoided the wars that followed. How long was Bush President when 9/11 happened? Russian wanted to own Afghanistan, that's why they failed. The US wanted to control the terrorists and had succeeded, until Biden gave the country back to them to control, with a few billion in US weapons to help them get started. Democrats don't play into their hands. Democrats are their partners.

Sandy Hook still has a lot of unanswered questioned surrounding it, not the least of which is what firearm was used in that crime. Why was a lot of evidence sealed so nobody could verify anything the government claims happened? How about we investigate the Las Vegas shooting and get some answers as to what really went on out there?

Hey, quit complaining guys. We have all been told politics doesn't affect hunting, so all of this ammo infringement can't be coming from politicians. And the Democrats are just trying to keep us all safe by taking away our right to defend ourselves. How hard is this to understand and why wouldn't we all want to comply for the good of the collective? It's obviously a plot by greedy ammo companies. Just ask all the lefties on this site.

Careful. The members who hate political threads will be crying about this thread being in the General Chit Chat section soon. How anyone can think firearms discussions and politics can be separated, is a mystery to me.

The AG is doubling down on regs that are clearly unconstitutional since the SCOTUS Bruen ruling, and she knows it. That makes her unfit to be AG at all. Declaring self defense to be illegal is about as corrupt as any law can get.
