Man that deer is a hog.

I would go with the muzzy fx-3's in 100 grain before I would go with thunderheads. I think you would be happier with them. The low profile broadheads are the only way to go. Only reason I didnt use them this yr is moneys tight and the wife has me on a short leash for hunting supplies.

Thats why I think they had to be damaged. When I used them they were rather sturdy little broadheads.

Im all for forgivness and second chances as I have been in need of a few myself from time to time. Maybe if an apology was given and a commitment was made to play nice it might smooth things over. Opinions are like butts everyone got one ( except maybe a few shark attack victims ) But it doesnt give anyone the right to denegrate another person just because you think your right. Which I myself am guilty of from time to time but im making an honest attempt not to anymore and try to see things from other peoples perspectives. So I say let him back on and if he messes up again BAN him and we'll all go to his house and kick his arse!!!

Looking into the legality of food plots.
erussell replied to lsnydes's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
It doesnt matter, even if using bait, and foodplots were legal someone would start complaining that it should be legal to tranquilize deer prior to hunting to slow them down for the shot. You give people an inch they want 2 miles. Its the nature of humans. -
Hog wash! Nothing but a load of crap. If a deer stops and go's another direction it could be any number of things. Maybe a yote or a bear walked through there earlier maybe the wind is in your face but 50 yrds back it could easily be blowing right back at the deer. Maybe there's another hunter 500 yrds up wind reeking of aqua velva. Or maybe the deer just though, hey I smell Acorns over there lets go check it out. Maybe he caught movement of something that made him nervous. Some deer are just more skittish than others especially bucks and older doe. Nothing but sensationalism and speculation.

So far besides having one dude broadhead I havent seen any problems with construction.

He's actually laying next to it with an arrow sticking out of his chest. Thats why its cut off!!LMAO

I would hope so, but I wouldnt doubt it if they had a hand in it at this point. I love in their advertisement where it says they can make your dreams come true. Ha what a joke!

Must have been a hard hunt. I wonder which barrel of feed he shot him over.

My uncle felt the back of his arm itching the other day and reached around and felt something. It ended up being a fully engorged tick. And he had a hand size bullseye on the back of his arm. Hes undergoing treatment for it right now. This is from Broome County.

Yeah everyone ive talked to hasnt shot a thing yet and are seeing very little movement in the evenings. Mornings are a little better but not by much. I noticed all the deer are piling into the yards of the neighbors so they must be feeling some pressure already. I'm going to hold back and be patient, cooler weather coming soon. Still shooting for this weekend to ground hunt some of the low land areas and leave the hills for later.

With all this said, Ive had blades break of muzzys before to and a few other brands when hitting the off side shoulder. But ive never had them fall apart shooting at a target before unless ive missed the target and hit a rock or something.

Not sure why we are debating something that is clearly legal in the game laws. If you don't like it dont do it. Plain and simple. -
Lowlife Whitetails, go figure. For 8 grand you to can be a lowlife. I would like to know why the Ranch didnt speak up and say hey wait a minute thats not a wild deer, the douche bag was just here and shot it? They can't say they didnt know he was trying to pass it off as a wild deer!! IT WAS ALL OVER THE NET FOR SH-- SAKE!!! So whats lowlife Whitetails excuse?

I dont think that realtree does but I know they have carbon express mechs for pretty cheap at wally world.
-
LOL that is true!!

Who knows maybe he got a damaged package or something. Like I said above, I used them about 3 yrs ago and they worked great. Love the low profile broadheads. If not damaged, there quality and control has def gone haywire since I used them. I would be pissed.
-
Well finally got around to putting broadheads on hunting arrows and had one bad broadhead in the pack. Blades in one were loose and wouldnt tighten down. Will use the blades to replace others I use on deer. So gos the cheap broadheads I guess. But the ones that are good are pretty sturdy, accurate and sharp.
-
Geez def junk. I used them 3 yrs ago and they worked fine. Even shot a doe passed through and was in one pc. Sounds like you got a bad pack. I would take them back to Dicks if you still have the receipt..

It baffles me some people do not understand the difference between dropping food and planting food. Buying bags of food = illegal baiting planting food=legal baiting Why because the DEC has said so and they are responsible for the deer herds of NY. Foodplots dispers deer over a larger area to avoid spreading of diseases like CWD and a host of other nasty diseases that kill deer. Bait piles put deer faces in close proximity with one another for easy spreading of diseases.
